Davina McCall, the former host of Big Brother and one of the UK’s best-known television presenters, is recovering in hospital following a six-hour operation to remove a benign brain tumor.
Her partner Michael Douglas wrote in a statement on Instagram on Friday evening: “Hey all. Davina is out of surgery and according to the surgeon it was textbook!”
He added: “She’s currently recovering in ICU as a precaution, as you can imagine she’s utterly exhausted.
“Thanks so much for all the love from everyone on here.. it’s powerful stuff, we are super grateful. Michael xx.”
McCall revealed earlier this week that she would be having the surgery. In an Instagram video, McCall, who co-presents ITV’s BAFTA-winning series Long Lost Family, said a “very rare” colloid cyst was discovered in her brain after she underwent a health scan earlier this year.
“It needs to come out because if it grows, it would be bad,” she revealed, adding that she would have a craniotomy operation.
