Netflix has released the trailer for The Children’s Train, the story of which is set in Italy right after the events of World War II about kids being sent to the north of the country.
The Children’s Train is an adaptation of Viola Ardone’s bestselling novel, Il treno dei bambini. “Set in post-World War II Italy, the story follows a group of children who are sent away from their impoverished families in the South to live with families in the North. The novel explores themes of identity, belonging, and the indomitable spirit of children.”
This looks like a beautifully shot film that tells a powerful and inspirational story. It’s directed by Cristina Comencini and it stars Serena Rossi, Barbara Ronchi, Stefano Accorsi, and Christian Cervone.
The Children’s Train will be released on Netflix starting December 4th, 2024.
