Roger Federer turned to social media to honor Rafael Nadal’s retirement, sharing heartfelt memories and acknowledging Nadal’s impact on his career. The Swiss player revealed that he wanted to share some important things before Nadal ended his journey in the game.

He stated, ”Let’s start with the obvious: you beat me—a lot. More than I managed to beat you. You challenged me in ways no one else could.”

Federer was grateful to Nadal for playing a crucial role in the former’s successful career in tennis. He expressed how Nadal made him reimagine the game and made him work harder than he ever thought. The 43-year-old also made an exciting revelation of how the duo engaged in fun and unique rituals during the game. This included Federer assembling Nadal’s water bottles like toy soldiers, fixing his hair and even adjusting his underwear.

Further, the Tennis Champion recalled how Nadal ended his winning streak during their first face-off in Miami. He also appreciated the 38-year-old for making his country proud with his achievements in the game. The 20-time Grand Slam winner also got emotional remembering his final match and last battle with Nadal in the Laver Cup in 2022. Federer concluded his post by assuring that he will continue to support Nadal in whatever he does in the future.

Roger Federer has been one of the most celebrated tennis players included in the ”Big Three” alongside Federer and Novak Djokovic. He has won 22 Grand Slam Titles including 14 victories in the French Open.

Nadal will play his final at the Davis Cup Finals in 2024.
