Tom Schwartz Says Katie Revealed New Relationship on His Bday

Tom Schwartz is “so happy” about Katie Maloney‘s new relationship with Sleeping with Sirens musician Nick Martin.

Just over two years after he and Katie, 37, finalized their divorce, the 42-year-old Vanderpump Rules star attended Lisa Vanderpump‘s 6th Annual Vanderpump Dog Foundation Gala in Beverly Hills, California, where he addressed Katie’s romance, offered an update on their relationship, and spoke of season 12 with friend and business partner Tom Sandoval, 43.

“I haven’t met her new man, but I’m so happy for her, although she did announce it on my birthday,” he told Page Six on November 15, adding, “[But] I think it was [Nick Viall’s] idea.”

As Pump Rules fans may know, Katie’s podcast, Disrespectfully, where she first confirmed the romance on October 16, is produced by the former Bachelor star’s company.

“[I love] to see her just thriving … I mean it, I love to see her happy,” Schwartz continued.

As for where he stands with Katie these days, Schwartz said they’re in a “really good place” as they continue to share their two dogs.

“We’re buddies. We’re not BFFs — I don’t want to overhype it, but we’re cool,” he explained. “We’re in a good place. We’re buddies again. There’s no friction or tension.”

During another interview at Lisa’s event, Schwartz admitted that when it comes to the future of Pump Rules, he doesn’t know anything more than the fans do at this point in time.

“I don’t know what the future holds. I’m optimistic. I’d love to film again,” Schwartz told Us Weekly. “This is my family. I’ve been through everything so much in the past 14 years. I kind of grew up on camera, even though we started when I was in my late 20s. In a way, I sort of grew up and I love everybody. I see almost everybody, not everybody, but I’ve seen pretty much everybody on a fairly regular basis. I’m in touch with the whole crew, and I’m looking forward to filming.”

Also speaking to Us Weekly, Sandoval said he was “excited to see what the future holds.”

“I think when we come back, it’s going to be different. And, you know, what I’ve learned to do is just accept the future with open arms and see what happens. It’s all we can do,” he shared. “I just feel like there’s a lot of things coming up and with the future a little uncertain, I just want to wait and see what happens.”

Continuing on, Sandoval said he felt it was important that he show his support for Lisa’s animal organization.

“I’ve been through so much with Lisa, and she’s done so much for me, for [girlfriend Victoria Lee Robinson and I as a couple] and I really look up to her in so many ways,” he revealed. “I love what she stands for and the things that she does. So, of course, I’m going to be here.”
