Disney has released the first trailer for Pixar’s upcoming sci-fi film Elio, which is going to take audiences on a wild out-of-this-world adventure. The movie follows a young boy who is abducted by aliens and is mistaken for the leader of Earth.
The synopsis reads: “A space fanatic with an active imagination and a huge alien obsession, Elio’s all in for an epic undertaking when he’s beamed up to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization with representatives from galaxies far and wide.
“When Elio is mistakenly identified as Earth’s leader, he must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, navigate a crisis of intergalactic proportions, and somehow discover who and where he is truly meant to be.”
The movie looks like it will tell a fun lighthearted story with lots of wacky, silly, and colorful characters. Definitely a movie that the kids will enjoy!
Yonas Kibreab (Obi-Won Kenobi) takes on the role of the young boy, and he’s joined by America Ferrera as Olga, his mom. She is described as being “Super-confident, smart and can hold her own in any situation.” The voice cast also includes Jameela Jamil and Brad Garrett .
Elio was directed by Adrian Molina (screenwriter and co-director of Coco) and produced by Mary Alice Drumm (associate producer of Coco).
Elio will be released in theaters on March 1, 2024.
