Diddy Claims Federal Prosecutors Altered Cassie Assault Video

Sean “Diddy” Combs has accused federal prosecutors of using underhanded tactics to ensure his recent bail request was denied.

Through his attorneys, the rapper alleged that prosecutors presented an edited version of a viral video showing him assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura, to the judge.

According to the claim, the altered footage exaggerated Diddy’s perceived threat, portraying him as more dangerous rather than framing the incident as a domestic dispute.

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ upcoming bail hearing is set for Friday, and if denied, it will mark the fourth time his request has been rejected since his arrest in September.

Ahead of Diddy’s fourth bail hearing on Friday, his legal team filed new docs in which they accused federal prosecutors of “mischaracterizing and concealing critical facts” to get the rapper’s bail request denied.

According to the documents obtained by TMZ, Diddy’s lawyers alleged that the prosecutors had shown the presiding judge an edited video of an altercation between Diddy and his ex Cassie, which was caught by the camera in the hotel where it occurred.

The incident occurred in 2016, and the video of it went viral earlier this year amid Diddy being investigated by the authorities.

Diddy’s lawyers also claimed that the prosecutors had the unedited version of the video but chose to alter it to present their “most powerful evidence of danger and obstruction.”

They went on to say that the intention behind such an underhanded tactic was to make Diddy look even far more dangerous than the unedited video portrayed.

In the documents, Diddy’s lawyers also attempted to explain away some of the violent acts depicted in the video.

In one scene, Diddy could be seen dragging Cassie down the hallway back to their hotel room after she tried to leave via the elevator.

Surprisingly, Diddy claimed that he didn’t “drag” Cassie down the hall, contrary to what was shown in the video.

A different scene in the video also showed a half-naked Diddy throwing a vase across the room, with Cassie likely being the intended target. The rapper also denied this and claimed that he only threw the contents of the vase at Cassie.

Diddy mentioned that the incident did not align with the federal prosecutors’ claims of sex trafficking or forced sex.

He said that the altercation was simply a “sad glimpse into a decade-long consensual relationship” and described it as just a “domestic dispute.”

After his arrest in September, Diddy was hit with three bail denials despite his legal team’s best efforts.

They filed a fourth attempt earlier this month, offering an extremely substantial, comprehensive bail package to back their arguments about him not being a flight risk, per USA Today.

As part of the package, they offered a “$50 million bond secured by the equity in Combs and his mother’s Florida homes, implementation of a 24/7 monitoring service by approved security personnel.”

They also proposed additional conditions, including prohibiting the rapper from having “internet or phone access outside of meetings with legal counsel, a pre-approved visitor list consisting of select family members, and surrendered passports belonging to the rapper and his family members.”

On Friday, the judge will review arguments from both federal prosecutors and Diddy’s lawyers before making a decision on Diddy’s bail request.

A fourth bail denial could mean that Diddy would remain in prison until his trial in May 2025.

He is currently being held at the special housing unit of the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York.

Despite initial concerns that Diddy’s high-profile status could lead to him being targeted, there have been no reports of that happening.

However, his lawyers have earlier claimed that the conditions of the detention center were horrific and not fit for pre-trial detention.

Diddy is currently being charged with racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges but faces up to life imprisonment if he is eventually found guilty by a jury.

The “Bad Boy for Life” rapper finally received an offer on his L.A. mansion, which was one of his homes that was raided as part of investigations by Homeland Security earlier this year.

According to TMZ, Bo Belmont and his company, Belwood Investments, have offered $30 million for the mansion, which happens to be almost 50% less than Diddy’s asking price.

The realtor boss says he wants to change the narrative that has trailed the 17,000 sq. Ft home and turn attention to the actual beauty of the property.

It remains unknown if the price he’s offering is the last bargain, as it’s far below what Diddy is asking for.

Belwood Investments has gained notoriety for buying up celebrity homes at a bargain price after snapping up Kanye West’s Malibu beachfront property for $21 million, far less than the $57 million fee he paid for it in 2021.
