Wondering about the future of The Book of Boba Fett and whether a Season 2 is in the works? As fans of the Star Wars universe eagerly await news about the bounty hunter’s next chapter, questions about Temuera Morrison’s return as Boba Fett continue to swirl.

Here’s what Morrison said about The Book of Boba Fett Season 2 and his possible return.

Is The Book of Boba Fett Season 2 canceled?

The future of The Book of Boba Fett Season 2 remains uncertain, with no official confirmation of cancellation or renewal from Disney or Lucasfilm.

Temuera Morrison, who plays the titular character, has suggested in recent interviews that plans for a second season are unclear and might not be a priority for Lucasfilm at this time. Despite fans’ hopes for more Boba Fett adventures, the series’ lackluster reception may be influencing the decision-making process.

In a discussion with The RaeSide, Morrison expressed disappointment over the absence of updates about the show’s continuation. He stated, “I was hoping for a [Book of Boba Fett Season 2], maybe, but we’ll see what happens. I don’t know what’s on the cards.” Morrison’s comments reflect uncertainty about whether Boba Fett will return to Disney+, as Lucasfilm shifts its focus toward other Star Wars projects.

Will Temuera Morrison return to play Boba Fett?

Temuera Morrison actively expressed his interest in reprising his role as Boba Fett, but Disney has not announced any official plans.

At FAN EXPO Chicago in August 2023, Morrison revealed that Disney had initially planned for him to appear in The Mandalorian Season 4. However, the series’ direction changed, with Disney now prioritizing a feature-length film focused on Din Djarin and Grogu.

“I’m still waiting for a phone call,” Morrison remarked, adding that it would be “nice to work with [Ming-Na Wen] again,” referencing his co-star who plays Fennec Shand. Despite his eagerness, it appears Disney has yet to reach out to the actor for future Star Wars projects.

Fans are still waiting for updates, but Lucasfilm seems focused on expanding the Star Wars universe with new content. Boba Fett’s inclusion remains uncertain, casting doubt on the character’s future.
