Looks like Diddy has issued a cease-and-desist letter regarding a documentary about his former mentee, Shyne.
According to Page Six, Diddy isn’t attempting to prevent the film’s release; rather, he aims to “clarify” the facts after Shyne claimed he took the blame for Diddy in a notorious incident from 25 years ago. As we previously reported, Shyne gained notoriety after a 1999 incident at a Manhattan nightclub, where he was present alongside his friend and mentor, Diddy, as well as Diddy’s then-girlfriend, Jennifer Lopez.

A fight broke out between Combs and another man, resulting in gunfire that injured three bystanders. In 2001, both Shyne and Combs were tried, but only Shyne was convicted of assault and reckless endangerment. Shyne, who is now a politician in Belize, served eight years in prison.
In the new documentary, Shyne claims that Combs’ true nature is now being revealed and expresses his belief that he was used as the “fall guy” for the founder of Sean John. “Because when I said it [at the time], everyone was partying and having a great time with Diddy while I was left to rot in prison,” he shared in the film.
Diddy’s reps slammed his comments, telling Page Six: “Mr. Combs categorically denies Mr. Barrow’s allegations, including any suggestion that he orchestrated Mr. Barrow to ‘take the fall’ or ‘sacrificed’ him by directing witnesses to testify against him. These claims are unequivocally false.”

The reps added: “Mr. Combs was acquitted of all charges related to the [1999 incident] and has consistently maintained his innocence,” and, “Mr. Combs appreciates the path Mr. Barrow has pursued and wishes him continued success. It is unfortunate that Mr. Barrow has chosen to revisit these allegations.”
