Porsha Williams has officially returned to Bravo and The Real Housewives of Atlanta, making a splash at Bravo Fan Fest Miami.
Williams left RHOA in 2021, and although fans got a life update on Peacock’s Ultimate Girls Trip Season 3 in 2023, a lot has been happening in her life ever since.
“I’ve been having a good time. I’ve been enjoying life,” Williams told Deadline. “Life has its ups and downs and per usual, just pushing through and it’s been amazing. I love being a mom. My little daughter, Pilar, is five now, and that’s literally my full time job.”
DEADLINE: Speaking of Pilar, we recently saw on social media that you’re filming confessionals with her father, Dennis.
WILLIAMS: (laughing) Ooh, I thought I deleted — I posted and deleted. I was like, am I giving [the fans] too much?”
DEADLINE: How has filming with Dennis been like and will we be seeing more of him this upcoming season?
WILLIAMS: I’m excited he’s filming with me. I’m glad that our family unit is being shown because even though it’s reality TV for entertainment, this is my real life and in the beginning parts of the season, you’re gonna see what I’m actually going through. I would say the most important thing to me is having that family unit, being a great co-parent, and being able to show that unity during the transition with Pilar. I can say that I’m excited about where we are, because it’s important for her to have that.
DEADLINE: Also joining you this season, who haven’t seen on Real Housewives of Atlanta since Season 9, is your Frick and Frack partner-in-crime, Phaedra Parks. How was that reunion been?
WILLIAMS: Oh, my God, when I tell you I wanted Phaedra back day one of filming, but I have to say, I was glad when she finally did come. It’s good because it’s always good energy. It’s always fun, it’s light-hearted. As dark as life can be sometimes, you need to have that light and Frick and Frack is always going to bring the good times. We’re always going to come in and laugh at what shouldn’t be laughed at, and enjoy the good things in life and not concentrate on the bad. I just love that she’s back.
DEADLINE: You two hadn’t been filming together for a while. What was the dynamic like filming and working together again?
WILLIAMS: The thing about Frick and Frack is, we have the type of friendship where we don’t have to talk [to each other] every day, and we definitely haven’t filmed together in some years, but when I tell you, it’s like a day hasn’t been lost. As soon as we got together, you would have thought we have been together every single day. And [she’s] the type of friend that you know the friendship is real – we’re locked in.
DEADLINE: Early on in the season, we also saw photos of you and frenemy Kenya Moore circulating, indicating that you two were on good terms. Since she left the series midway through filming, are you two still in contact?
WILLIAMS: I’m still in contact with Kenya and I’m still hopeful that she can work it out with the cast and with the network and find a way forward. I was really excited for the audience to see our growth, because out of everything, it was super genuine. It was [very much] Big Sis, Little Sis energy that anybody would be able to relate to. I definitely hated that it didn’t work out, but sometimes you have to pay for some of your mistakes and come around on the end.
DEADLINE: Speaking about Little Sis, are you still in touch with former Bravo’s Chat Room co-host and Summer House alum, Hannah Berner?
WILLIAMS: Of course, I love Hannah Berner. I am so hoping that Hannah Berner [and] Gizelle Bryant, we get back together and bring back Chat Room. Everybody DMs me [and] tweets me all the time about Chat Room. So please, let’s sign a petition and get it to come back.
DEADLINE: It would work great as an in-studio show.
WILLIAMS: Just imagine what we all three would be doing in person [and] in a studio, it would be insane. We didn’t have to be produced at all. We had great producers, but [it was just them] telling us the subjects — we would just rift. That’s how natural it was with all of us. We all come from different walks of life, but it was just magic and I hope we bring it back one day.
DEADLINE: Lastly, when you were announced as returning to Real Housewives of Atlanta, the announcement included an overall scripted talent deal with NBCU Entertainment. Has there been any progress on that project?
WILLIAMS: I can’t actually speak on some of the projects, because in the TV world, you don’t speak on it until it’s announced, but there has been a lot of movement. There is a show that will be coming out next year, and yes, I have definitely stepped back into the acting field, and I do have something coming up, per usual in this world, you can’t speak about until it’s announced.
