Sam Asghari Opens Up About Life After Loving Britney Spears

It has now been six months since the pair, who met while filming Spears’ steamy “Slumber Party” music video, finalized their divorce and officially closed the door on their 14-month-long marriage.

Known for being mostly silent about their union and subsequent parting, Asghari,30, is speaking out just weeks before he appears on the third season of Peacock’s The Traitors.

PEOPLE caught up with Asghari as he attended Friday evening’s inaugural amfAR Las Vegas benefit for AIDS research.

With both his sister, Fay, and latest companion Brooke Irvine as his dates for the evening, Asghari emphasized that he was doing his best to move on from Spears with as much grace as possible.

“It’s the bed that you make yourself, and you got to learn how to lay in it,” he told PEOPLE, “so it’s part of the lifestyle.”

He continued, “You just got to keep it positive, stay grounded and understand what the truth is, and really just live with that rather than other people’s opinions or anything like that.”

Just this summer, Asghari opened up even more about his relationship and subsequent marriage to Spears with E! News.

Speaking to E!’s Francesca Amiker, Asghari shared the lessons he picked up while being married to one of the world’s most celebrated entertainers.

“You learn so much from being in relationships in general,” he relayed. “I appreciate all the amazing experiences that I got.”

Asghari further stated that being in a committed relationship helps “grows you as a person,” and that his time with Britney will be “something that’s always going to be a part of me.”

In parting, Asghari had nothing but words of appreciation for the “Piece of Me” singer.

“I wish her the best,” he said. “She’s an amazing person and a huge part of my life, and I always appreciate the moments we had together.”

Time heals all wounds, as Asghari proved back in August, when he introduced the world to his first serious relationship following his marriage to Britney.

While attending the Los Angeles premiere for his movie, Jackpot!, Asghari filled E! News in on the identity of his new love.

“I’m dating someone as we speak,” he shared. “She’s very high maintenance. I just did her nails, took her to the dog park.”

If you’re confused, he was actually talking about his new dog, a Doberman named Porsha.

“[I give her] a lot of treats,” he gushed.

In all fairness, Asghari did bring a human plus-one along with him for the event – his mother, Fatima, who was very new to the red-carpet experience.

“I did miss a lot of time with my mother,” Asghari admitted, further explaining that he left her behind in Iran when he came to live in America. “We reunited around three years ago.”

“This is something new to her,” he said of the movie premiere, “so I wanted to show her my world.”

All lighthearted jokes aside, Asghari has been pictured with a woman TMZ describes as a “younger version of Britney.”

We’ll leave them to make that comparison, but we do know she’s a real estate agent out of Beverly Hills, CA named Brooke Irvine.

The two have spotted multiple times throughout November exercising together, going shopping for furniture, walking through LAX on their way to destinations unknown, and at a Las Vegas bash at Zouk Nightclub just last evening.

As mentioned earlier, Irvine was also with Ashgari during the amFar Las Vegas event, which seemed to take place before their Zouk Nightclub outing. Sam’s been mum about things with Brooke, but it does give the impression that he may be focusing his attention on someone new.

Though Asghari and Spears reached a settlement over their divorce back in May, the two still aren’t “legally single” in the eyes of the state of California.

The Daily Mail reports that the declaration that officially declares them single parties will come into effect beginning on December 2, 2024 – Spears’ 43rd birthday. Sources close to the singer claimed that she chose this route as a way to “avoid the circus and spectacle of a trial.”
