Some powerful moments have been shown on reality TV shows, including one in the latest episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. This episode featured a bold and honest discussion between Mary Cosby and her son, Robert Cosby Jr., about his addiction issues. Since airing, not only have other Bravo stars offered kind words and prayers to their family, but Mary has also issued an update through Andy Cohen.
There have been many discussions on the show about Robert and his sobriety. This has especially been the case this season due to his appearances on the show. The latest episode saw Mary make the difficult decision to have an open and honest conversation with Robert in front of the cameras about his addiction as well as why he uses drugs.
During the episode, Robert admitted to taking Xanax to help “chill him out” and then an Adderall to bounce him up. He also revealed he had been mixing Xanax with acid and cocaine, and he was taking 10 pills at once.
Since the episode aired, many have wondered about Robert’s current state as RHOSLC was filmed months ago. Now, Mary has issued an official statement about this. During Wednesday night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live, Andy said, “I spoke to Mary tonight, and she wanted me to let you all know that Robert Jr. is doing well.”
Mary and Robert also received support from other Bravolebrties. The Queens of Bravo page on Instagram compiled a series of social media posts and put them together as a collage. Porsha Williams was one of the most vocal supporters, saying, “OMG a mother’s worse nightmare. Praying so hard for Mary!! I’m so glad he’s doing better.”
Teresa Giudice left a comment saying, “Praying for your son. Sending him lots of love.” She also included prayer hand, heart, and crying emojis in the comment.
Drew Sidora also took to social media to say what a powerful episode this was and to offer prayers to their family as Robert continues his sobriety journey.
