During a recent Instagram Live session, the iconic rapper Uncle Luke shared his thoughts about the latest saga in the Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef, which saw Drizzy filing two petitions against his and K.Dot’s music distributor UMG (Universal Music Group).
In his live, Luke had a Drake song playing in the background and he said, “That’s the guy who filed a lawsuit.” He continued, “I like Drake’s music. I don’t like what he got going on right now, but I like his music.” However, Luke disclaimed, “[There are] some things you don’t talk about. You don’t talk about payola. You don’t talk about buying live streams. And you don’t sue after you got dissed and you done did some dissing.”

Uncle Luke continued to call out Drake over his UMG petitions stemming from his beef with Kendrick Lamar and his “Not Like Us” diss. He essentially blamed the move on being something the younger generation does. He asserted, “But that’s y’all new people. That’s y’all young people. Y’all young people live in a soft society. That’s why I’m glad I’m an OG. All y’all young people soft, godd*mn it. Y’all soft, soft, soft. Y’all soft.”
Luke added, “You got soft men. You got rappers getting a diss war and then they go [and] get the gun and shoot each other. No. How about go and fight? All your favorite rappers are snitching on… Talking about payola, and getting in their feelings, and suing people over a diss.”

Uncle Luke continued to tell his livestream audience that back in his day in the rap game, things were a lot different, and not as “soft.” He insisted, “We dissed each other…me and Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg dissed each other and other rappers. The Real Roxanne [and] Roxanne Shanté. Everybody dissed each other. [But,] one thing [that was] off limits: the kids [were] off limits. The Girlfriends [were] off limits. The Mommas [were] off limits. All that. That’s what y’all do. Just keeping them up.”
As we previously shared, on Monday (November 25), in a New York court, Drake filed legal action against UMG (Universal Music Group) over Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” diss. In the filing, he targeted UMG and Spotify, alleging they boosted the sales and virality of K. Dot’s Drake diss track. He also alleged that UMG made shady payments to Spotify. The filing made is not a full-on lawsuit yet, however, a “pre-action” petition under New York law, which seeks more information to file a formal lawsuit.
The following day, on Tuesday (November 26), Drake filed another “pre-action” complaint, this time in a Texas court, accusing Universal Music Group (UMG) and iHeartRadio (iHR) of defamation over Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” diss. In the second filing, he insisted that the two companies could have stopped the release of K.Dot’s scathing record which his filing claims, “falsely accuses him of being a sex offender,” citing K.Dot’s lyrical pedophile allegations.
