DaBaby spent some time with his loved ones this past Thanksgiving holiday and shared footage of the bonding moments on social media. In one clip, the rapper showed himself teaching his six-year-old daughter, Serenity, how to shoot a gun.
“Welcome to the south. Got them babies started early today,” he wrote in his Instagram caption.
The video starts with DaBaby behind the camera. After Serenity fired off one shot, the view switches to him standing behind his daughter as she points the weapon straight ahead. The six-year-old fired the gun six times after her dad asked, “You ready for me to let it go?” Meanwhile, another family member in the background encouraged her to “get on there.”
She fired off the gun a couple of more times in the video with her dad nearby. More clips in the video show other minors firing what appears to be the same weapon.
Social Media Reacts To DaBaby’s Daddy-Daughter Moment
DaBaby posted the video on Nov. 27, and within four days, it had collected nearly 15,000 comments and more than 665,000 likes. Fans and other celebrities weighed in on the rapper teaching Serenity how to use the deadly weapon.
For example, Sexyy Red wrote, “I love dis teach em early to protect.” Meanwhile, Bobby Shmurda added laughing and fire emojis.
IG user @markrandomx praised the lesson, writing, “You are watching the young black woman violence victim rate go down in this video. This is what EVERY father should teach their daughter, EVERY FATHER.”
@angelaj3l agreed. Adding, “If guns are in the house they need to learn to respect them n to use properly. Good job girlies handled that kick back like sum Gs!”
“If u don’t got a daughter be quiet. Very very quiet,” @baybgoat wrote.
“My dad taught me at 10. Black fathers matter,” @diamondtherealtor wrote. @latoyasuber chimed in, saying she learned to shoot at age eight.
Meanwhile, @queen.ky clocked any trolls with a lil’ comparison. “Y’all don’t say anything about yt kids that are assembling rifles and hunting at 5 years old. So why is this a problem???”
