High Potential Season 2 Episode 9 Release Date, Time, Where to Watch

As you know, the next chapter in the Fast and Furious franchise has been hit with a few delays. This is the sequel to Fast X, which left fans with a major cliffhanger.

It’s been three years since Fast X was released and six years since the final films in the franchise were announced. So, what’s the holdup? Why hasn’t the been any movement on the next Fast & Furious film?

Vin Diesel seems to blame the deals on conflicting studio demands. The actor recently shared the following on social media:

“I got Universal in one ear saying we need FastX2 by March 2026! I have Comcast in the other ear saying we need two movies to be the Finale!

“Then the writer on Fast Five sent me this image and said we need to see DOM and HOBBS resolve their differences. I just want to get back to real street racing, practical stunts… and a reunion of that beautiful brotherhood. Happy Thanksgiving…”

So, it seems like everyone involved with this franchise just needs to get on the same page.

Universal Pictures have hired Christina Hodson (The Flash, Bumblebee) and Oren Uziel (The Lost City, 22 Jump Street) to co-write the script. It was also previously confirmed that Fast X director Louis Leterrier is returning to direct.

When previously talking about the final filming the franchise Diesel said:

“To say the excitement for our finale was incredibly powerful is an understatement. This grand finale is not just an ending; it’s a celebration of the incredible family we’ve built together. Hope to make you proud!”
