Teddi Mellencamp and her husband Edwin Arroyave are separating after 13 years of marriage. It has been confirmed that Teddi had an affair with her daughters horse trainer, Simon Schroeder.
When news surfaced about the affair, Teddi said she was going to refrain from speaking it for the sake of her children saying, “There’s always, in every situation, gonna be somebody who is vocal and someone who is not, and I know in my world of recapping Housewives, I’m pretty vocal,” she continued. “But when it comes to kids and other people’s lives that didn’t sign up for this or did sign up for this, I got to just take a beat.”
Crystal Minkoff was asked about Teddi Mellencamp’s statement in which she said she thinks Teddi does need to address the divorce, “I don’t think it’s a requirement for a podcast to be open and vulnerable. Every podcast is different. But do I think Teddi should be required? Yes.”
Crystal explains, “I think if Teddi’s gonna come after everybody, she should open up more. My thing is, I don’t really care personally, but I don’t do that to people. That’s not expected of me. I am super honest and open in general.”
Crystal hopes that this adjusts how she is towards other in the future saying, “I care about her children, so I don’t want that at the end. But I do hope that she adjusts herself in the future, handling other people’s personal affairs. That’s what I hope for her. I don’t need her to expose any of it. That’s their personal life. But I want her to have a little more grace for other people. That’s what I would like.”
Teddi has defended herself multiple times for talking about other housewives saying she does it “as a job” so it should be acceptable.
