Crystal Kung-Minkoff believes Teddi Mellencamp should be “required” to discuss her divorce from Edwin Arroyave on her podcast — just as she’s discussed the marriage challenges of others.
During an appearance over the weekend, the 41-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum signaled the many public comments Teddi, 43, has made about others’ marriages, accusing her of coming “after everybody” as she also looked back on a past conversation her husband Rob Minkoff, 62, had with Paul “PK” Kemsley, 57, about his separation from Dorit Kemsley, 47.
“I don’t think it’s a requirement for a podcast to be open and vulnerable. Every podcast is different, but do I think Teddi should be required? Yes,” Crystal told Us Weekly on December 1.
As RHOBH fans will recall, Teddi mentioned her split from Edwin, 47, on her and Tamra Judge‘s podcast, Two Ts in a Pod, but only to inform her listeners that she wouldn’t be saying any more than that because she wanted to protect her children.
“At this point, I’m obviously only gonna share what I shared on social media,” she said at the time. “I’m just trying my hardest to make sure that my kids’ privacy is protected right now and that we’re able to have all of these conversations.”
Teddi and Edwin got married in 2011 and share three children, including Slate, Dove, and Cruz.
While discussing the family, Crystal admitted to having compassion. However, she didn’t have much grace for Teddi.
“I think if Teddi’s gonna come after everybody, she should open up more,” Crystal reasoned. “My thing is, I don’t really care personally, but I don’t do that to people. That’s not expected of me. I am super honest and open in general.”
“I care about her children, so I don’t want that at the end. But I do hope that she adjusts herself in the future, handling other people’s personal affairs. That’s what I hope for her,” she continued. “I don’t need her to expose any of it. That’s their personal life. But I want her to have a little more grace for other people. That’s what I would like.”
As Teddi continues to face claims of an affair with her also-married horse trainer, Simon Schroeder, she’s admitted to facing criticism for not being more open on her show.
“Being somebody who recaps other people’s things, [it’s like], ‘Don’t be a hypocrite, Teddi,’” she said. “But when it does come to this and children, I think there’s just room.”
In other RHOBH news, Crystal recently shared details about a chat that Rob had with PK after his split from Dorit.
“There was always rumors for at least a year before that came out, that stuff was going on,” Crystal recalled on the November 4 episode of My Friend, My Soulmate, My Podcast, via Entertainment Now. “Rob actually ran into PK like two weeks ago. Rob is like my Housewife. I’m like, ‘How did it go?’ He was like ‘He was really lovely.’”
Crystal went on to say that during their convo, Rob asked PK if he and Dorit staged the split for the show.
“Rob said, ‘I asked him, was all that real? Or did you make that up for the show?’ I go, ‘Rob! You’re the perfect Housewife.’ I was like, ‘You asked him that? What?’ And he said, ‘PK said, No, it was like we were really going through some times,’” Crystal revealed.
