On Tuesday (November 2), NYC Mayor Eric Adams said, “Those who are here committing crimes, robberies, shooting at police officers, raping innocent people, have been a harm to our country… I want to sit down and hear the plan on how are we going to address them. Those are the people I am talking about.”
Eric Adams continued, “And I would love to sit down with the ‘Border Czar’ [Donald Trump’s pick Tom Homan] and hear his thoughts on how we’re going to address those who are harming our citizens.”

When asked if the city should cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers, Mayor Adams quickly responded by quoting the stances of past major Democratic leaders on the topic.
He said, “I want you to all go back and Google Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Google what they said about those who commit crimes in our city and what they said in our country. They said, ‘Those that commit crimes need to get out right away.’ That was their position.”

Adams continued, “So, this is not a new position. In the error of cancel culture, no one’s afraid to be honest about the truth. Well, cancel me. Because I’m going to protect the people of the city. And if you come into this country and this city and think you’re going to harm innocent New Yorkers, and innocent migrants and asylum seekers, this is not the mayor you want to be in the city under.”
New York City Mayor Eric Adams said that he had already reached out to Donald Trump’s “Border Czar Tom Homan about working Trump’s administration to mass deport criminal migrants. Additionally, a day before his comments, Homan told FOX News on Monday (December 2), “I’m willing to meet with him, and I’m willing to meet with anybody to help make their communities safer.”
He added, “Prioritization out of the gate is public safety threats; work with us on that. It makes your community safer. It keeps my officers safe. It keeps the community safe. Let’s work together and get this done.” A date for the meeting has not yet been shared as Homan claimed he hadn’t responded yet to Adams’ request, but he plans to do so soon.
