Actress Jennifer Garner reportedly “encouraged” her ex-husband, actor Ben Affleck, to “work on” his marriage to singer and actress Jennifer Lopez before her divorce filing.

According to Page Six, sources exclusively told them that before Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck decided to get a divorce, the latter’s ex-wife Jennifer Garner “encouraged” him to “work on” his marriage before ending up with a second failed marriage.
The source said, “When things started getting rocky between Ben and Jennifer [Lopez], Jen [Garner] was very supportive of their relationship and encouraged Ben to work on their marriage.” The source said that the 52-year-old ‘13 Going on 30‘ actress “had even become friendly with Jennifer and they were communicating on a regular basis.”
However, as of recent, Garner reportedly “hasn’t been in touch” with the 55-year-old “Jenny From The Block” singer. The source for Page Six noted, although, Garner “has no problem with Jennifer. At the end of the day, she just wants Ben to be happy.” Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck called it quits on their 10-year marriage in 2015 and also share three children: Violet Affleck, 18, Seraphina Affleck, 15, and Samuel Affleck. Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez shares two kids, twins, Emme and Max, 16, with her ex-husband, Latin star Marc Anthony.

Despite Jennifer Garner’s efforts to save Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s marriage, Lopez filed for divorce from the 52-year-old ‘Batman‘ actor in August 2024, on the second anniversary of their Georgia wedding ceremony. The couple first eloped in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 17, 2022.
In her filing, J.Lo cited the usual celebrity go-to of irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split. She also listed their date of separation as April 26, 2024. In August, Lopez also formally requested that a judge change her legal name from “Jennifer Lynn Affleck” to “Jennifer Lynn Lopez,” after taking up her husband’s last name upon eloping in July 2022.
Since their separation, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have been living separately, but have occasionally been spotted out and about together and gathering for their kids. Affleck has also been spotted heavily with Garner. The two most recently reunited on Thanksgiving Day as they partnered up with the Midnight Mission to help feed 2,000 homeless and near-homeless people. After their volunteer duties, they returned to Garner’s home in Brentwood, CA to have dinner with their three kids.

A source told Page Six that Affleck felt “blessed” to be surrounded by Garner and their kids on the holiday after his divorce from Lopez.
The source said, “Even though Ben and Jen [Garner] have been split for a while now, he feels a certain level of comfort with her. Ben has a strong relationship with Jen that will never dissipate because they have a lot of history together and she’s the mother of his kids. They’ll always be close because they share children together and maintain a friendly co-parenting relationship.”

In a new report, Page Six also reported that a source claims Jennifer Garner “would love” to have her ex-husband Ben Affleck come over and spend Christmas Day with her and their three children.
A source said, “Jen and Ben typically split their time with the kids over the holidays but Jen offered to spend Christmas all together with Ben if he would like. Christmas is one of Jen’s favorite holidays and she would love for the family to be together as often as possible for these occasions.”
The source added, “Jen and Ben have a really friendly co-parenting relationship and she knows the kids had a wonderful time being together with both parents on Thanksgiving.
