Netflix TV Show With 94% RT Score Renewed for Season 3

The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) has announced its selection of 20 film projects and four immersive projects for the 42nd edition of CineMart, Rotterdam’s co-production market. The 2025 CineMart runs from Feb. 2 to Feb. 5, 2025. Rotterdam’s industry section, the IFFR Pro Days, is scheduled from Jan. 31 to Feb. 5.

Among the highlights of the projects set for CineMart are Ukrainian auteur Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk’s Something Strange Happened to Me, the director’s follow-up to his acclaimed debut Pamfir; Kenyan filmmaker Angela Wanjiku Wamai’s neo-Western Enkop; and The Uganda Project, the new film from Daniel Mann, whose Under a Blue Sun screened in Rotterdam’s Tiger Competition in 2024.

As is to be expected from a Rotterdam lineup, the 2025 CineMart selection is thematically and geographically diverse. Cheryl Dunye’s Black Is Blue, which explores anxiety over AI, stands alongside Jazmín López’s Faust, an exploration into the origins of authoritarianism. Marcelo Gomes and Cao Guimarães explore dystopian futures in Cape of Pleasures, while Meat by Rioghnach Ni Ghrioghair and Strange Root by Lam Li Shuen and Mark Chua offer two new genre takes on cannibalism.

The immersive lineup includes Robin Coops’ musical experience One Charming Night and Lilian Hess’ Strata.

Rotterdam’s Darkroom section will spotlight Georgian filmmakers, featuring Uta Beria’s Tear Gas, Alexandre Koberidze’s Dry Leaf and Rati Oneli’s Wild Dogs Don’t Bite.

The IFFR Pro Awards, including the Eurimages New Lab Awards, will be presented on Feb. 5, recognizing standout projects from both the CineMart and Darkroom selections. The 2025 International Film Festival Rotterdam runs Jan. 30 – Feb. 9.
