Looks like Diddy has given up on trying to get out of jail before his trial starts in May.
Legal counsel for Combs, currently locked up at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, filed a motion today to dismiss his bail appeal in the ongoing sex trafficking and racketeering case against him. He’s already been denied bail three times and has ultimately decided to stay in custody while he awaits trial.

“Mr. Combs does not seek to appeal the district court’s denial of his renewed motion and hereby moves to voluntarily dismiss the appeal,” according to the motion. “Counsel has explained the effect of voluntary dismissal of the appeal.”
Diddy also signed the motion which said “(a) counsel has explained the effect of voluntary dismissal of the appeal; (b) he understands counsel’s explanation, and (c) he desires to withdraw and voluntarily dismiss the appeal.”
For months, Combs has been pushing to secure his release, even offering a hefty $50 million bond backed by the equity in his homes, along with promises of security monitoring and a commitment not to interfere with the ongoing investigations. However, during his latest bail hearing on November 27, Judge Arun Subramanian noted “serious risk of witness tampering,” pointing out that Combs reached out to witnesses after his grand jury testimony in June 2024.

Just yesterday, Judge Subramanian ruled that Combs would get access to a preloaded laptop to review discovery materials and prepare for his trial in May. He can use the laptop daily from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Combs was arrested back in September on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transporting individuals for prostitution. His legal troubles began after a shocking lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura last November, which was settled the next day. This action triggered a wave of similar suits from other accusers who alleged that Combs had drugged and sexually assaulted them.
In related news, Jay-Z found himself named in a refiled case this week, where a Jane Doe claims he and Combs raped her when she was just 13 years old in 2000. Jay-Z shot back at the allegations, stating that his lawyer received “blackmail” attempts from attorney Tony Buzbee aimed at pressuring him into settling the case. He emphasized that such tactics only motivated him more to expose the accuser for “the fraud [they] are in a VERY public fashion.”
