Taylor Swift did not attend boyfriend Travis Kelce’s latest Kansas City Chiefs football game.
Swift, 35, was not present as Kelce, also 35, and the Chiefs played the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, December 15, in the tight end’s native Ohio, according to ESPN.
Swift concluded her Eras Tour earlier this month, shortly before traveling to Kansas City. The day before the pop star’s 35th birthday, she made a surprise appearance at the local Children’s Mercy Hospital to meet with pediatric patients. There, Swift engaged in conversation, filmed TikToks, posed for selfies and gave away autographed Eras Tour merch.
“We can’t shake it off — the excitement, smiles and laughter that filled our halls yesterday as @taylorswift13 visited patients in Kansas City,” an X message from the hospital’s official account read on Friday, December 13. “Thank you and happy birthday from all your fans at Children’s Mercy!”
Swift had closed out her record-breaking Eras Tour with nine concerts in Toronto and Vancouver. The Canadian shows were her first since her album The Tortured Poets Department scored six Grammy nominations.
“You guys did something so amazing over the course of the last few months [with] what you did with embracing Tortured Poets Department,” she gushed on stage in late November. “It’s truly blown my mind. It’s really emotional for me because this album; I wrote it during the Eras Tour.”
The 14-time Grammy winner added, “I wrote the album, made the album — all trying to keep it a secret from you guys and then announced the album and was, basically, working really hard to secretly put together a new chapter in the Eras Tour of Tortured Poets Department and we wanted to surprise you with it.”
Swift went on to credit her fans for her Grammy nominations, telling the crowd that the album’s success was due to her fans keeping “that album at No. 1 for nearly four months.
In between her history-making Eras Tour concerts in the U.S. and abroad, Swift has been catching Kelce’s Chiefs games in person. She has only made it to home games, often sitting with Kelce’s friends and both of their families.
Swift has been a fervent member of Chiefs Kingdom since she started dating Kelce in summer 2023.
“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” Swift told TIME in her 2023 Person of the Year profile. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”
She continued, “Football is awesome, it turns out. I’ve been missing out my whole life.”
Kelce, a three-time Super Bowl-winning tight end for the Chiefs, is equally in awe of Swift’s career and frequently attends her Eras Tour concerts.
“Taylor’s shows are unbelievable,” he exclusively told Us Weekly in May. “If you haven’t been to them, you got to try it.”
Kelce, for his part, showed support at her second concert in Indianapolis last month.
