Gizelle Bryant hinted that Mia Thornton “doubled [down]” on her comment about her daughters on the Real Housewives of Potomac, and she called Mia’s behavior “disgusting.” The star also gave an update on her legal battle with rapper Eminem.
Earlier this year, Eminem’s legal team opposed Gizelle and Robyn Dixon’s attempt to trademark their “Reasonably Shady” merchandise line. The rapper has his own brand with trademarks such as “Slim Shady” and “Shady Limited,” and his team apparently believes the Bravo stars are infringing on his trademark.
On a recent episode of the show, Mia claimed Gizelle’s daughters once snuck boys into Gizelle’s house. It seemed to be retaliation for Gizelle’s previous suggestion that Mia didn’t protect her kids amid her new relationship with boyfriend Inc during her divorce with Gordon.
“It is disgusting when you talk about children [on the show],” said Gizelle on The Breakfast Club. “They didn’t sign up for this, and children [are] just off limits … If you want to come for me, come for me. You don’t have to bring my children into this. So that for me is a point of no return. [Mia] and I used to be friends off camera, but that’s over.”
“You do stuff like that when you’re desperate, when you desperately want [and] think that this is gonna elevate you. And it didn’t really work out that well for her,” said Gizelle. “Nobody’s buying into that. And she’s got enough to worry about. She’s got a husband. She’s got a little boyfriend. She doesn’t know the paternity of her child.”
Gizelle claimed Mia is still “dead to me,” as Mia had “ample” opportunity to apologize in upcoming scenes – but she “doubled and tripled down on it.”
She also gave an update on her legal battle with Eminem.
“We deposed [Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg]. And from that … it’s almost over,” she said. “Eminem’s team had me and Robyn deposed. So all is fair in love and war — we were gonna depose Eminem.”
But according to Gizelle, “all hell broke loose” when they expressed their need to depose Eminem, and his team said “never” as Eminem “doesn’t even know anything about this.”
“Well if he doesn’t even know anything about this, why are we here?” asked Gizelle. “But that’s a lie. You had to have told him something. So because of that, I think [they’ve] decided, okay these girls aren’t going away and like we’ve got to settle.”
“Well, patent and trade[mark] are gonna settle it or figure it out, because we’re at the end of the road … we’ve spent a lot of money [on laywer fees],” said Gizelle. “You don’t own the word shady.”
She suggested that smaller companies with “shady” in their name have “paid” off Eminem’s team to “make them go away.”
“We weren’t gonna do that [unless they] offer[ed] us something that could make us go away, but we’re too far in now,” she said. “It’s a no.”
