Emily Simpson and Gina Kirschenheiter claimed Shannon Beador’s new man is different than her ex John Janssen. The costars also addressed potentially filming again with John’s fiancé Alexis Bellino, in an interview conducted before Alexis announced her exit from the Real Housewives of Orange County, and which former castmate they’d bring back to the show.
In the latest season, Emily and Gina clashed with Alexis as they defended their friend Shannon. Several stars accused Alexis of being John’s mouthpiece amid his lawsuit against Shannon for $75,000. In November, the exes settled the suit after Shannon agreed to cough up $60,000.
Speaking with Us Weekly, Emily and Gina shared an update on Shannon after her lawsuit drama with John.
“She seems great,” said Emily. “I saw her the other night. I had dinner at her house. She seemed happy, and I think she’s glad that it’s over.”
“I was actually very in touch with Shannon during all of that, and I was very proud of her that it got settled,” she went on. “My whole point in discussions with her was, ‘We have to move forward, and this has to be in the past, and for you to have a clean slate and be able to enjoy your life and live your life to the fullest, we gotta get rid of them.’”
Gina then shared an update on Shannon’s love life.
“She is going on some dates,” said the star. “I didn’t meet him, but I think [Emily] might have met a beau.”
Emily revealed that he’s different from John.
“He seems lovely and non-litigious,” she explained, laughing. “He didn’t show up with papers to serve her, so I feel like that’s a great first step.”
The stars then shared their thoughts on Alexis’ potential return.
“That’s part of the job. You have to navigate difficult relationships … We would navigate it,” said Emily. “I’d probably use the F-word a lot.”
“I just think it would probably be harder for her than it would for us,” said Gina. “We sit in our seat, and she sits in hers, and hers sucks.”
Gina and Emily both indicated that they also don’t have any “relationship” with newbie Katie Ginella when asked about Katie’s potential return to the show.
In another interview, via @bravobreakingnews on Instagram, the costars were asked which castmate they’d bring back from an old season.
“I would give Braunwyn another swing,” said Gina. “Before she stopped drinking, I actually feel like she was a very good Housewife … [and then] she got a little nutty during COVID.”
“I would bring back Victoria,” Emily responded, referring to Vicki Gunvalson. “I’m sorry, but Victoria Gunvalson is TV gold. The woman makes me laugh.”
