As we previously shared, during a recent episode of Alex Cooper‘s ‘Call Her Daddy‘ podcast, Olympic champion Trinity Rodman talked about her career as a professional soccer player and about the current status of her relationship with her NBA Hall of Fame father, Dennis Rodman. In the hour-long sit-down, Trinity reflected on the time her father made a surprise appearance at a big, important game of hers back in November 2021.
Trinity, whose mother is Michelle Moyer, felt as if her father had stolen what was supposed to be a great moment for her and he made it all about him, with the media turning into a circus over his appearance at his estranged daughter’s big game. After making several headlines with her father, Dennis Rodman, Trinity took to her Instagram to share an image of her NBA Hall of Fame father, Dennis Rodman, embracing her and to talk about the moment.
In her caption, she wrote, “This last game was an extremely emotional one. Yes, Dennis Rodman showed up to an NWSL [National Women’s Soccer League] game. But also, my dad, after YEARS, surprised me at a big game in my career. I was shocked, overwhelmed, happy, sad, everything.”

She added, “My dad doesn’t play a big role in my life at all and most people don’t know that. We don’t see eye to eye on many things. I go months, if not years, without his presence or communication. Being in spotlights has been hard for us; him and me. We don’t have the best relationship, but at the end of the day, he’s human, I’m human… he’s my dad, and I’m his little girl. That will never change. I will improve and look forward every day, as I hope he does.”
On Wednesday (December 18), Trinity Rodman called out her father, NBA Hall of Famer, Dennis Rodman, whom she called an “alcoholic” who hasn’t always been a dad to her. During her sit-down, she said, “He’s not a dad. He’s a person, but he’s not a dad. Maybe by blood, nothing else.” She also said every time she talks to her father, she ends up emotionally distraught, explaining, “It f**ks me up every single time.”
She added, “I think now, hearing his voice is painful. I think it’s missing him mixed with he’s an alcoholic. And again, that’s something that I don’t wanna say but I’m just, like, f**k it. It’s just the truth. And hearing, even the past five years, the difference in the way that his sentences go together, it feels like he’s gone.”

In a since-deleted apologetic Instagram post from Thursday (December 19), Dennis Rodman shared a montage of photos of him and his daughter Trinity and captioned it, “Sorry I wasn’t the dad you wanted me to be, but either way, I still tried and I still try and I never will stop. I will keep trying even when you’re being told as an adult not to respond to my phone calls. I will try even when it’s difficult and if it takes a long time.”
The NBA Hall of Famer added, “I’m always here and tell you all the time, whether it’s your voice or voicemail, how proud I am. I always had one wish, and it was I wish my kids would call me and come see me. Hopefully, one day I can get that. I’m here and I’m still trying. Pick up the phone; you have my number. You see me calling; I’m still here. Dennis RODMAN – Dad.”

He concluded, “FYI: I watch you play all the time (actually flew in to watch you play and was told not to show up because of who I was with instead, and me just wanting to support you. So, I watched you from my hotel balcony just to make everybody happy. I love all my kids. #untold #storys.”
Reacting to a post about her dad Dennis Rodman’s apologetic response to his daughter calling him an “alcoholic” and absentee father, Trinity Rodman took to her Instagram Story later that Thursday and simply said, “A joke. The response alone. And the attention. Wiping my hands with it. I’m done. Thank you [thumbs up].”
