Sources close to Jay-Z and Beyoncé have revealed that the couple is deeply “upset” following a shocking new lawsuit that links Jay-Z to serious rape allegations in connection with Sean “Diddy” Combs. Insiders say Beyoncé is doing everything she can to support her husband and family during this incredibly challenging time.
Insiders told US Weekly that while Jay-Z and Beyoncé had anticipated being drawn into the ongoing “drama” surrounding Diddy—especially after the first wave of accusations against him surfaced in 2023—they didn’t know when it would hit their personal lives.

Earlier this month, both Jay-Z, 55, and Diddy, 55, were named in a civil lawsuit filed by an anonymous plaintiff who accused the two men of raping her when she was just 13 years old in 2000. Both men have strongly denied the accusations. According to one insider, Jay-Z believes the lawsuit is nothing more than a “money grab” and has maintained his innocence to Beyoncé, 43, in private.
A second source shared that Beyoncé is “putting on a brave face” for the sake of their children, despite the emotional toll the situation has taken on the couple. “She is moving forward with her life, she is still committed to her scheduled performance in two weeks, and will be there for her family as much as she can.”
Attempting to maintain normalcy, Beyoncé will continue her scheduled performance at halftime during the Christmas Day NFL game on Dec. 25. “She won’t let this bring her image down,” the insider added.
A third source claimed that the Cowboy Carter singer “does not believe a word” of what the lawsuit is alleging. She strongly believes that the case is an “extortion attempt,” the source added.

Jay-Z maintained his innocence in a statement published earlier this month.
On Dec. 8, Jay-Z released a statement about the scathing rape allegations, claiming that the accusations were a blackmail attempt by a “lawyer” named Tony Buzbee.
“What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle,” the rapper penned in a statement posted to the Roc Nation X account. “No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!”
He went on to describe Buzbee as a “deplorable human being,” questioning his integrity and expressing deep “heartbreak” for his family. He shared his concern about having to sit down with his children to explain the case to them.
“My only heartbreak is for my family. My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people. I mourn yet another loss of innocence. Children should not have to endure such at their young age. It is unfair to have to try to understand inexplicable degrees of malice meant to destroy families and human spirit.”
Since 2023, over a dozen individuals have come forward with allegations against Diddy, accusing him of sexual assault, rape, physical abuse, and using his power in the entertainment industry to drug, assault, and rape victims. If convicted, the music mogul could face a prison sentence ranging from 15 years to life. He is currently incarcerated on charges related to sex trafficking, racketeering, conspiracy, and transporting individuals for the purpose of prostitution.
