‘Tom Cruise Birth Name’ Trends As Fans Discover His Real Name

This week’s retro trailer is for the classic 1985 animated holiday special The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus which was created by Rankin/Bass, the same company behind Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman.

The special is based on L. Frank Baum’s 1902 book of the same name. The story presents a unique and fantastical origin of Santa Claus.

It begins with the Great Ak, the leader of an immortal council, recounting the life of Claus to persuade the council to grant him immortality. Born a mortal, Claus is raised by the Wood Nymph Necile in the enchanted Forest of Burzee.

As Claus grows, he learns about humanity’s struggles and chooses to dedicate his life to bringing joy and kindness to children. He begins crafting toys, spreading happiness to the world, but faces opposition from the Awgwas, dark creatures who thrive on human misery.

The story is rich with magical and fantastical elements, including immortal beings, mythical creatures, and a imaginative backstory for Claus.

The visual style and stop-motion animation are quintessentially Rankin/Bass, featuring intricate designs and a fantastical atmosphere.

While this is a less traditional special than some of the other Christmas specials, it delivers a heartfelt narrative and enchanting presentation.

I included the trailer, a preview clip and the full film if you’re interested!
