Beyoncé is set to perform at the Baltimore Ravens-Houston Texans’ halftime show in Houston on Christmas Day, and her performance will be available to stream on Netflix.

The 43-year-old Grammy Award winner announced her performance at the halftime show with a video shared on Instagram last week.

Beyoncé is expected to perform songs from her Country-inspired album, “Cowboy Carter,” during the show.

Netflix announced on Dec. 19 that the Baltimore Ravens-Houston Texans game and the Kansas City Chiefs-Pittsburgh Steelers game will be streaming live on the network on Dec. 25.

Beyoncé Expected To Perform Songs From ‘Cowboy Carter’

Beyoncé announced her NFL halftime show performance with a video shared on Instagram on Dec. 11.

The video featured the “Texas Hold’ Em” singer wearing all white with a matching cowboy hat while lighting up Christmas tree lights on a cactus. The post was captioned, “A Cowboy Carter Christmas. HOUSTON, TEXAS 12.25.”

The “Jolene” singer is expected to perform songs from her Country album, “Cowboy Carter,” during the halftime performance.

The Chief Content Officer of Netflix, Bela Bajaria, said that the Christmas Day games would be exclusive to the streamer.

“Last year, we decided to take a big bet on live — tapping into massive fandoms across comedy, reality TV, sports, and more,” said Bajaria. “There are no live annual events, sports or otherwise, that compare with the audiences NFL football attracts. We’re so excited that the NFL’s Christmas Day games will be only on Netflix.

Mariah Carey Will Also Perform

According to Netflix, the Queen of Christmas, singer Mariah Carey, is also scheduled to perform at both of the Christmas Day NFL games.

“The holidays are synonymous with twinkling lights, glad tidings, and the emergence of a pop superstar who rings in the season on a high note — and the first few bars of a certain inescapable Christmas tune,” Netflix announced.

“It’s only fitting, then, that Mariah Carey will open the show at the first-ever NFL Christmas Gameday live on Netflix on Dec. 25,” read the announcement.

The streamer added that Carey will sing a rendition of her Christmas hit, “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” The song reached number 1 on Billboard’s Holiday 100 chart and spent 15 straight weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

According to CNN, “Cowboy Carter” has earned Beyoncé 11 Grammy nominations. The album features collaborations with Country music greats such as Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton.

The recording artist made history at the 65th Grammy Awards when she became the artist with the most ever Grammy wins after winning her 32nd award for her album “RENAISSANCE.”

Bey won her 32nd Grammy in the “Best Dance/Electronic Music Album” category. During her acceptance speech, she thanked the LGBTQ community.

“I’m trying not to be too emotional. I’m trying to just receive this night. I want to thank God for protecting me. Thank you, God. I’d like to thank my uncle Johnny, who’s not here, but he’s here in spirit,” she said at the time.

“I’d like to thank my parents, my father, my mother for loving me and pushing me. I’d like to thank my beautiful husband, my beautiful three children who are at home watching,” added the songstress. “I’d like to thank the queer community for your love, for inventing the genre. God bless you. Thank you so much to the Grammys. Thank you.”

Beyoncé Shares Why She Called Her Album ‘Cowboy Carter’

As previously reported by The Blast, Beyoncé revealed why she called her latest album “Cowboy Carter.” The recording artist said she felt unwelcome after being booed at the Country Music Awards while performing with The Dixie Chicks.

Beyoncé noted that she wanted people to learn more about the history and do “research on the word cowboy.” The term “cowboy” was originally used to describe Black ranch hands in the cattle industry, and the singer hoped to educate her fans about it.

“The cowboy is a symbol of strength and aspiration in America,” she said. “The cowboy was named after slaves who handled the cows. The word cowboy comes from those who were called boys, never given the respect they deserved.”

“This album has been over five years in the making. It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed…and it was very clear that I wasn’t,” Beyoncé wrote on Instagram.

She continued, “But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of Country music and studied our rich musical archive. It feels good to see how music can unite so many people around the world, while also amplifying the voices of some of the people who have dedicated so much of their lives educating on our musical history.”

Beyoncé Calls Willie Nelson A ‘National Treasure’

Beyoncé called her fellow musician, 91-year-old Country music star Willie Nelson, a “national treasure” in an Instagram post featuring the artist in October.

“The Great Willie! You are the coolest,” wrote Beyoncé. “I admire you, and I sincerely thank you for being the pioneer you are. Thanks for your impactful music, your advocacy, and the gracious way you appreciate and celebrate other artists! You are 1 of 1.”

The singer added that Nelson was kind to her when she first met the icon as a member of Destiny’s Child group “years ago.”

“You were so kind to me and the girls of Destiny’s Child when we fanned out meeting you years ago. And you greeted me with the same kindness 20 years later! You are one of our national treasures. Sending my love to you.”
