TV personality, model, and actress Claudia Jordan is the latest public figure to chime in on the controversy involving 2024 Heisman winner Travis Hunter and his fiancée Leanna Lenee, noting how “concerned” she is after having his big moment got “eclipsed” by all the internet drama.

After the Colorado Buffaloes cornerback and wide receiver was awarded the Heisman Trophy on December 14, Travis Hunter’s relationship with his fiancée Leanna Lenee went under a microscope. Critics flooded social media with comments attacking Hunter’s fiancée for not standing up when he was awarded his huge accomplishment, along with them calling her out for seemingly being a gold digger.
Social media detectives then began digging into her background, finding videos of her claiming she wasn’t initially attracted to the football player, videos of her with other men, and modeling in Rap music videos. The initial criticisms caused Travis Hunter to speak out at least twice to defend his fiancée Leanna Lenee, who then shared an 8-minute clip defending herself and her relationship.

When the criticism continued, Travis Hunter, who is preparing to enter the 2025 NFL draft, spoke out once more telling critics that all of the backlash has been “draining” and that he was not going to break up with his woman simply because the “internet wants him to.”
Coming to his defense over the weekend was psychologist, life coach, and relationship expert Dr. Cheyenne Bryant, who took to her Instagram Story on Sunday (December 22) to react to 2024 Heisman trophy winner Travis Hunter’s latest response to criticism over his fiancée Leanna Lenee.
She gave him some advice and said, “All these men giving him relationship advice are either single, divorced, or baby daddies. This man is none of those statistics.” She continued to share her own relationship advice and said, “Travis, be with your fiancée and do what works best for you. My only advice would be to make her a wife and you a husband, and not a single mother or single father. Blessings, young man!”

Since then, Travis Hunter deactivated his Instagram after footage went viral showing his fiancée Leanna Lenee dancing on another man. The video surfaced after Lenee admitted in her 8-minute video that the football player would be her designated driver and chauffeur, driving her to parties, where she got drunk, and waiting outside until she was done.
After that, coach Deion Sanders’ son, Shedeur Sanders, stepped up to defend his teammate in a post on X. On Sunday evening, Shedeur posted, “All y’all athletes, entertainers, artists, etc. If y’all genuine trying to holla at Trav y’all know how to get in touch with him or someone around. At this point, y’all just posting for the algorithm trying to look cool.”
Helping defend 2024 Heisman trophy winner Travis Hunter amid the controversy with his fiancée Leanna Lenee is now Claudia Jordan. Reacting to Hollywood Unlocked’s post about Hunter deactivating his Instagram, she revealed how “concerned” she was for him. She began, “His entire moment has been eclipsed by the public’s focus on who HE CHOSE to be with.”

Jordan continued, “Right or wrong that’s a lesson HE has to learn. We do not know these people’s private conversations and I think it’s way past the point of ‘looking out for this man.’ These are young people who are newly famous and this has to be extremely difficult, embarrassing, and hurtful to both of them. Let’s all just try to be mindful of that, please. People have committed suicide for less! Please leave these young people who are SUPPOSED to make mistakes alone. I’m concerned.”
Another user compared Travis Hunter’s Heisman win and fiancée controversy to a similar situation retired NFL player Reggie Bush experienced. In April 2024, Bush had his 2005 Heisman trophy reinstated after having it rescinded for receiving endorsement deals with playing for the University of California Trojans football team. The move arrived after the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2021 decision that questioned the legality of the NCAA’s amateurism model and opened the door to athlete compensation; like the ability of college football players to be paid for their name, image, and likeness (NIL deals); and the NCAA’s recent proposal to remove the cap on education-related payments.
Referencing Reggie Bush, one user wrote, “Us old heads could you imagine us bullying Reggie Bush after he just won the Heisman? This is an insane era.” Jordan replied, “Exactly! This is so messed up! And they been together [for] 5 years! He’s just invested. Regardless of our opinions. Imagine how bad he’s feeling right now when he should be basking in his moment!”
