The photorealistically animated film Mufasa: The Lion King, which hit theaters on Dec. 20, is a prequel to Jon Favreau’s The Lion King (2019), a remake of 1994’s critically acclaimed animated classic. The voice cast for Mufasa features several stars and well-known actors, including Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Aaron Pierre, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner and Kelvin Harrison Jr; the titular role in the new feature is voiced by Beyoncé and rap mogul Jay-Z’s 12-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, making her feature film debut. And Mufasa: The Lion King‘s soundtrack includes seven songs written by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
