Dominic Weaver,47, reportedly owed an estimated amount ranging from $114,000 to $120,000 in child support. According to the New York Post, Jefferson County Attorney Mike O’Connell said Weaver’s alleged financial neglect had become so severe that it prompted legal action upon his return to the United States. “This is one of the most egregious events that brings something to light that I think I’ve ever seen,” he explained.
Weaver was initially sentenced to five years of probation in 2019 for flagrant non-support. However, he had reportedly not paid any child support since his sentencing, leading authorities to arrest him upon his arrival from the cruise. It is unclear when he left for the vacation, but four cases are pending within the county’s child support division.

The situation escalated to the point where Weaver was included on a 2021 list highlighting parents who owe significant amounts for their children’s support. At that time, his debts approached $100,000, according to county records.
Currently, there are four pending cases with the child support division, and officials are advocating for severe consequences. O’Connell plans to request that the court revoke Weaver’s probation and could potentially sentence him to up to four years in prison, reflecting the seriousness of his neglect.
