It’s been a few years since Braunwyn Windham-Burke has appeared on The Real Housewives of Orange County. However, her name is mentioned in the world of pop culture very often. Sadly, this time, it’s because her ex-husband, Sean Burke, has accused the former television personality of child abuse. Of course, she is denying that this has happened.
Fans of RHOC will recall that Braunwyn and Sean got married in 2000 before the couple filed for divorce in 2022. The divorce was finalized the following year.
Since then, their relationship hasn’t been the greatest as they have been publically struggling with co-parenting, and he owes a significant amount in back child support. Of course, Braunwyn has since married Jennifer Spinner and moved to Tennessee.
According to the Daily Mail, Braunwyn and Sean have been battling over several issues related to parenting their kids. Notably, the two are said to have disagreements over schooling. However, the outlet has also obtained court docs that say Sean has alleged abuse coming from Braunwyn directed at one of the children, who happens to have autism. Notably, the instance of abuse is said to have happened over the summer.
In the docs, Sean says he contacted the Franklin Police Department on August 14th about a change of custody time. However, once there, they noticed that the child, Curren, had rug burns. This allegedly came from Braunwyn dragging him from under the bed. Of course, they reported this to the Department of Child Services.
A representative for the former RHOC star is deny ling the claims, stating, “After multiple interviews with the children, the allegations against Braunwyn were declared as unfounded. Braunwyn was awarded primary custody after a trial where said details were discussed. The health and safety of her children have always been and will continue to be her first priority.”
Still, the court docs also say, “As a result of the incident, Mother was required to take a parenting class for dealing with children with behavioral issues.” The report also says that Braunwyn has “has not seen or spoken” to the child since the August incident.
Regarding the incident itself, the official word was that the child hid under the bed and refused to come out. Braunwyn says she contacted the dad for help, but he refused. She believes the dad then reported the incident as a way to “harass” her.
Notably, they have a custody hearing early next year, where a judge will evaluate their custody plan. Of course, it should be noted that she had had public issues with some of her other kids.
