Dolores Catania is Upset RHONJ Costars’ “Egos” Led to Pause

There’s no way to mince words regarding the state of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Both fans and the cast are being left in the dark about the future of the show, and this has been the case for several months. Now, Dolores Catania is joining Melissa Gorga in expressing disappointment over the lengthy pause.

Dolores is blaming her castmates for the delay. Plus, she will soon set sail as part of the Celebrity Wives Cruise for 2025 with some of the ladies from the troubled Bravo show that she’s on good terms with. 

Fans will recall that Melissa recently warned Bravo about the length of time they plan to take to decide how RHONJ will move forward. According to her, the network will lose cast members because they’re not being told the status of the show. Notably, Kandi Burruss decided to leave RHOA for this very reason. 

Recently, Dolores sat down for an interview with PEOPLE to discuss her skin-tightening procedure. However, the topic of RHONJ of course came up. When asked about the series, she said she’s “a little mad” about it.

According to Dolores, “We didn’t film last season, so we’re not coming back… we’re not going to be airing in January or February.” 

She then blames her castmates for the show being on pause. She said, “Of course, I’d look forward to seeing my cast come back on the screen or even come back to film, but they made a mess. I’m a little mad that everybody couldn’t get it together. I really am.”

Dolores then said she tried her best to get the ladies to work through her issues. She explained, “On my way to that finale, I spoke to a therapist and asked her for some tips on going in and speaking to the women. I wrote it down in the car ride on the way there. And no matter what I did on and off camera, nothing helped.”

She went on, “You could see I was defeated. I sat there, and I knew you wouldn’t be seeing us for a while; I saw it coming. We f—ing lost something along the way. I’m looking at Salt Lake City, and I’m looking at Beverly Hills, and they fight, but they don’t go for the jugular. They’re not hitting below the belt. They agree to disagree and move on.”

When asked if she thinks the show might get all fresh faces, she said, “I feel like we’re an ensemble, and I can’t see anyone else but the people that I was with. It’s like a family. Can you see yourself with other people in your family?”

Dolores continued, “We’ve traveled the world together, we’ve cried together, we fought together. You have to move on, otherwise, you’ll have no one in your life. Now we have no one. So what do you think? Do you think a full recast works? I’m not so sure.”

The interviewer then asked if the cast could make things work if they were hired back. She explained, “I know I would. I think that given some time for things to cool down, maybe they would try to do that, too. It’s time to put egos aside. You don’t throw something like this away. We had great ratings. We did well—we just have to learn how to act. This is what life is. It’s about fighting and making up.”

In other RHONJ news, Dolores, Teresa Giudice, and Jennifer Aydin will all be a part of the Wives on the Waves cruise for 2025. The cruise is scheduled for September 1-6, going from New York City to Bermuda.

The company describes it as “an exclusive getaway with your favorite reality TV stars.” There will be VIP events, parties, and more. The cabins have a starting rate of $1,100 per person based on double occupancy. The Wives on the Waves events package costs $775 per person.
