This week’s retro trailer for the 1989 cult horror oddity Elves, which is a delightfully bizarre film that was directed by Jeffrey Mandel.
The film follows a young woman named Kirsten, played by Julie Austin, who inadvertently summons a grotesque elf creature while performing an occult ritual in the woods with her friends.
What begins as a strange and unsettling encounter spirals into a wild tale of conspiracy, as Kirsten discovers her family’s sinister connection to Nazi experiments involving elves and a horrifying plan to create a master race.
Meanwhile, she teams up with a down-on-his-luck ex-cop-turned-mall-Santa to stop the monstrous creature and the unholy schemes unfolding around her.
The film is a strange amalgamation of low-budget effects, absurd plotting, and offbeat performances, making it a so-bad-it’s-good gem.
Enjoy the trailer!
