I’ve got a trailer here for you to watch for an inspiring documentary titled Looking Up, which follows a blind young man who takes on the challenge of climbing up the world’s most epic granite wall, Yosemite’s El Capitan.
The synopsis reads: “Diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa, a rare & incurable genetic disease that gradually causes blindness over time, Eitan Armon discovered his condition while serving as a military sharpshooter.
“After receiving a medical discharge and with about 5% of his central vision remaining, Eitan decides to challenge himself and ascend Yosemite’s daunting El Capitan.
“Refusing to be limited by his visual disability, Eitan’s journey demonstrates that life has endless possibilities for those who approach it with positivity and resilience.
“In Looking Up, Eitan lets go of everything he can’t control and focuses on what he can.”
I’m a big fan of climbing and outdoor docs and I’m constantly watching them on YouTube. I just love seeing people challenge themselves to accomplish incredible feats, and it’s just one of those things that inspires me to push myself to be better.
Looking Up is directed by Elena Neuman Lefkowitz, a producer making her feature directorial debut with the film and it will be released in theaters in early 2025.
