#Socialites, get a load of this! During Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen‘s CNN ‘New Year’s Eve Live’ special, musician Diplo admitted to being high on LSD, noting, “It’s a light trip.”

At around 11:06 PM EST (8:06 PM PST), Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen, the hosts of CNN’s ‘New Year’s Eve Live’ special, stood in Times Square, New York waiting for the ball to drop as they interviewed DJ and producer Diplo, who was in a studio in Los Angeles, California, “lightly tripping” on LSD.
In a clip from the special that is now going viral, Andy Cohen asked Diplo, “What’s the most conventional place that you’ve done LSD?” Diplo laughed and shockingly admitted, “Right now.” Visibly stunned by Diplo’s LSD confession, Anderson Cooper burst into laughter while Andy Cohen yelled out, “Right now?!” Diplo nonchalantly replied, “Yeah.”

Cohen then said, “Oh my God. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Please tell…” Diplo, interjected, “I’m not even lying.” With Anderson Cooper still uncontrollably laughing next time him, Andy Cohen asked Diplo, “You’re tripping right now?” Diplo replied, “Yeah, but it’s like a light trip.” Cooper and Cohen were still stunned and could only say, “Wow.”
Cooper then asked Diplo, “How do we look to you? As weird as we do in real life or weirder?” Diplo, laughingly said, “All I see is this camera. I don’t even see you guys, they won’t let me look at the screen. So, I have no idea what you guys look like.” Someone behind Diplo’s camera then showed a live feed of the CNN hosts and he said, “Oh, you guys look beautiful. I love your shirts.” Cohen replied, “Of course we do. Yeah, of course.”

Anderson Cooper continued to pry about Diplo and his “light trip” on LSD, asking, “So, you’re like micro-dosing?” He admitted, “Yeah, a little bit. I think I might have macro-dosed earlier today, though.” Both of the CNN ‘New Year’s Eve Live’ special hosts were again shocked, left to reply, “Ok,” and repeat Diplo’s response. Cohen then asked, “Was it the LSD spray?” Diplo replied, “No, I got a little dropper…little droplets.”
Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen then get serious for a moment and talk amongst each other, claiming that they should probably advise the viewers at home that taking LSD like Diplo is illegal. Diplo then offered, “We should just cut this.” Cohen matter-of-factly countered, “Cut it? It’s live.”
Trying to clean up the conversation, Anderson Cooper interjected, “We don’t recommend this. We don’t recommend this at home.” Andy Cohen and Diplo laugh it off and Cohen began to change the subject to ask the DJ and producer, “Hey, Diplo, what was your song of the year?”
