Anne Hathaway is poking some fun at her former co-star Jeremy Strong.

For the 2025 Golden Globes on Sunday, the actor wore a mint green velvet bucket hat and matching suit from Loro Piana which stirred some online reaction.

One notable reaction however was from Strong’s Armageddon Time co-star Hathaway who took to Instagram to joke about Strong’s look while congratulating him on his nomination. Strong was nominated for his role as the lawyer Roy Cohn in Ali Abbasi’s The Apprentice.

In her post, Hathaway shared a photo of herself as Mia Thermopolis in the 2001 film in a scene where she wears a similar looking bucket hat in order to hide her new hair makeover.

“Sweetheart, I’m not mad you borrowed it but I didn’t totally realize you were going to change the col… anyway, not important, congrats on your well deserved nom for The Apprentice!!!”

For the Globes, Andrew Scott also addressed Strong’s look given he too wore a bright blue suit but of a different shade. When Scott and Strong ran into each other on the red carpet they commented on their similar color choices.

“We’re the colors of the sea,” Scott told Strong during an Entertainment Tonight interview. “We’re maritime chic.”

Going into the ceremony, Emilia Pérez led the the nominations with 10 nods, more than any other title in film or on TV. The film’s 10 nominations broke the record previously held by a comedy or musical motion picture, surpassing Barbie, which scored a total of nine noms last year. Emilia Pérez was named best motion picture — musical or comedy and best non-English language film, while the film’s star Zoe Saldaña took home the best supporting actress award for her performance. The movie’s song “El Mal” won best original song.

Strong’s Apprentice co-star Sebastian Stan won for best performance by a male actor in a motion picture – musical or comedy for his role in A Different Man.

The Golden Globes aired live Sunday from the Beverly Hilton on CBS and streamed on Paramount+. Nikki Glaser hosted.
