Bronwyn Newport is speaking out about the recently filmed reunion for The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season five and revealing how her husband, Todd Bradley, truly feels about her role on the series.
As she also looked ahead to her potential return for season six, offered an update on her relationship with Lisa Barlow, 50, and looked back at her struggles with Britani Bateman, 53, Bronwyn admitted that the reunion was a bit of a disaster as she shared whether or not Todd, 56, regretted joining the show.
“I went into it wanting resolution. It was my first season. Watching myself back, there were lots of things I was unhappy with myself about or felt like I could work on. So I went in with that mindset, and I think some other people did and some did not, so that’s always a recipe for disaster,” Bronwyn, 39, revealed to Us Weekly, via Daily Motion.
While Bronwyn confirmed that she did make amends with some of her castmates, she noted that not everyone was on board with her plans for a moment of coming together.
“That’s kind of how that goes,” she reasoned.
Despite the drama and speculation they faced surrounding their marriage, Bronwyn said she and Todd had no regrets about joining the series.
“Todd definitely doesn’t wish I didn’t do the show,” she stated.
That said, the experience was something they learned from.
“I don’t think I realized as we were filming how uncomfortable he was on camera. So much of what’s good between Todd and I is really private between Todd and I. So I knew that wasn’t being necessarily filmed to be shown. I didn’t realize how harsh it looked or how kind of stabby my self-deprecating humor could be,” Bronwyn explained. “So you live and you see it when you watch it back and you learn. So we both have made some changes.”
According to Bronwyn, the upcoming episodes will continue to feature talk about her and Todd’s relationship, which will be “difficult to watch back.”
“I really confided in the ladies about some old stuff that’s gone on between him and I, and maybe we weren’t in a place for me to confide in them quite yet,” she teased.
Although Bronwyn recently revealed a betrayal by Todd on the show, she confirmed the two of them are “happy” before confessing that exposing their hardships to the world is “hard.”
Ultimately, Bronwyn hinted that she wants to return to RHOSLC next season and that Todd will support her if she does.
“[But] at the end of the day, when I’m really upset about what I see online, it’s Todd who’s there for me … And it won’t be the last you see of Todd. If I’m back, Todd will support me,” she added, teasing their season six return.
Moving on to Lisa, Bronwyn said that while they were both at the same event, she had no plans to talk to her.
“If I see her from afar, I wish her well. Merry Christmas, baby gorg. But maybe I’ll mail her that. I don’t know if we need to say it in person,” she stated.
As for Britani’s potential return, Bronwyn said she doesn’t want to see her fired.
“It’s not my decision if she comes back next season, and I never want to not be supporting another woman,” she shared. “If it’s good for her, then she should be there.”
Looking back at their time together, Bronwyn admitted Britani wasn’t her “favorite” co-star.
“We approached going on the show very differently, and I was very hard on her for the way she approached it,” she revealed. “I’ve apologized to her for that. I don’t know if she wants to take that apology, but it was there if she wanted it. And that’s kind of all I’m willing to do.”
She then reacted to the TikTok videos Britani shared of herself in the same Yves Saint Laurent red heart jacket Bronwyn was seen wearing on RHOSLC.
“She was definitely throwing shade. I would just say I wore the real one, and it kind of feels like she’s wearing me on TikTok at this point. Like, I feel like she would skin me and wear me like a cape if she could,” she said.
Bronwyn also spoke of Britani while appearing on Bravo Insider‘s new series, Bravo Bravo F’ing Bravo with Kate Chastain.
“Britani and I have struggled,” Bronwyn admitted. “We don’t see eye to eye on anything. Even as newbies, we were not like, ‘Well, it should be you and I against the rest of the group.’ No, no, I let her fend for herself, she let me fend for myself.”
“I do feel for her; it is a tough group to initiate yourself into and become friends with, and it’s hard,” she continued. “There were so many times we’d be sitting there having dinner, doing things, and I’d just be fascinated by what the ladies were saying, and then if you’re not careful, you’re gonna take a shot from the side. Like, you’ve gotta be clocked at these dinners, you gotta know who’s talking about what, you have to be on it.”
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season five airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
