Mark Hamill, Family ‘Fleeing For Our Lives’ From Pacific Palisades Fire

Even “Star Wars” legend Mark Hamill is not safe from the Pacific Palisades wildfire, which continued to tear through California on Tuesday night with no end in sight.

The 73-year-old actor took to Instagram on Tuesday night in order to give fans some reassurance that he had safely escaped the blaze, even as evacuation routes began to close.

On Tuesday night, the California native took to Instagram to assure his followers that he was safe from the fire. He shared a “personal fire update,” letting his followers know that he evacuated Malibu around 7 PM local time.

The evacuation was “so last-minute there [were] small fires on both sides of the road as we approached PCH,” he wrote.

Over an hour later, at around 8:15 PM, he and his family arrived safely in Hollywood. He ended his message calling it the “most horrific fire since” 1993 and encouraged his followers to “Stay Safe!” in capital letters.

In the caption, he added, “* there ‘were’ small fires* ^ (gimme a break- we were fleeing for our lives),” and then encouraged his followers to “stay safe” once more.

In the comments, many followers encouraged him to “stay safe” and repeated the iconic “Star Wars” line: “May The Force Be With You.”

On Wednesday morning, “Halloween” star Jamie Lee Curtis revealed that her home was possibly on fire, but that her family was safe. In a lengthy message, she also thanked first responders and asked for everyone to come together during this difficult time.

“My community and possibly my home is on fire. My family is safe. Many of my friends will lose their homes. Many other communities as well,” she explained. “There are so many conflicting reports. With all the technology there seems to be very little information. PLEASE POST FACTS! IT WILL HELP THOSE WONDERING!”

“It is a terrifying situation and I’m grateful to the firefighters and all of the good Samaritans who are helping people get out of the way of the blaze. Neighbors have taken care of neighbors,” she continued. “We ALL take everything for granted because we are all living our lives but when it hits your community, it’s particularly shocking.”

“Life on life’s terms. If ever there was need for the use of the phrase MY HAND IN YOURS, it is right now. Take care of each other. Stay out of the way and let the firefighters do their work. Pray if you believe in it and even if you don’t, pray for those who do,” she concluded as fans offered up their thoughts and prayers.

In his own post, “Guardians of the Galaxy” actor Chris Pratt shared three photos of firefighters combating the blaze as he thanked first responders for their tireless work and continued efforts to keep everyone safe.

“Please send prayers and strength tonight to everyone in Los Angeles affected by these devastating fires. Los Angeles is in a state of emergency and over 30,000 have been ordered to evacuate,” he wrote in the caption.

“Thank you to the brave firefighters and first responders who are working tirelessly to protect lives, homes, and wildlife as they battle fast-moving wildfire fueled by fierce winds. You are true heroes, and we are endlessly grateful for your sacrifice and courage,” he continued, adding, “Let’s all come together to support one another during this tough time.”

“Frozen” voice actor Josh Gad also thanked first responders as he shared a video of the blaze to his own Instagram page.

“I hope everyone is staying safe tonight in the affected fire areas in Los Angeles,” he wrote in the caption. “My deepest gratitude and appreciation goes out to our brave fire and rescue and police forces who are doing everything in their power to keep the residents of Los Angeles safe right now.”
