On this episode of The Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City, a very activated Meredith Marks comes to play, all thanks to Britani and her poor decision to record a Sprinter Van argument.
Messy, messy. The women turn on Britani, causing the tensions to soar. It all comes to a head when Meredith accuses Britani of planting a listening device in her room. Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction…
So far, this trip has been a disaster. The drama has really affected Lisa and how she feels about her friendships. Lisa explains that after the catastrophic dinner, Bronwyn visited her room. Bronwyn came clean to Lisa about a “really sh*tty” conversation she had with Whitney, Angie, and Heather about Lisa. Bronwyn claims to regret the conversation, but Lisa wants to get to the bottom of the gossiping. She is looking forward to finding out the answers of what really went down when they all get together to go ATVing.
Mary misses being able to check in with Robert, but since he is in rehab, Mary feels some relief and knows he is in a safe place.
Meredith touches base with Heather about Britani’s weird behavior the night before. She thinks something is off. Meredith doesn’t like Britani insinuating that she has an eating disorder by telling the group she heard Meredith throwing up. Meredith is sick of people intimating things that are not true, and questions why she stuck her neck out for Britani (by kicking Lisa out of her party) when she is unsure about her intentions.
On the way to ATVing, Lisa decides that NOW would be the perfect time to find out what truly was said in that chat with Bronwyn, Heather, Angie, and Whitney. Bronwyn claims she told Lisa about it because she wants to be transparent, but let’s be honest- she is trying to win back whatever friendship she once had with Lisa.
Angie is sick of Bronwyn’s crap and Whitney jumps in since “Lisa is not the only one who gets to talk.” Lisa loses it, calling Whitney a “f*cking b*tch” and wonders in her confessional if someone can give Whitney a gag, since “I’m sure she’s used to them with Justin.”
As Whitney and Lisa argue, Angie spots something out of the corner of her eye: Britani recording the argument on her phone! Angie calls her right out and demands that Britani “swipe to the left like you do on Tinder and press play” to show the group what she has captured. It’s the best when a rattled Britani claims she was texting her kid, but LOL- does she forget that she told us that she does not even talk to her kids?!
Meredith wigs out, calling Britani vile and pulls a Meredith Marks “you can leave.” They’ve got Britani’s number and they know it was no accident. Has Britani recorded other times? Talk about an invasion of privacy! Britani is surprised to see Meredith so disgusted, but even Heather is angry, since she has always defended Britani. But now, Britani has f*cked up. The women promise that they will never be able to trust her again.
Once they arrive at the destination, Britani runs off, hysterically crying. Mary believes that Britani deserved the lashing, whereas Whitney feels like they have taken it too far with their words. When Whitney goes to check on Britani, she doubles down and continues to deny that she was recording on purpose, and offers up her phone for Whitney to go through. However, it’s time she admit she was intentionally filming them.
Heather gets stuck riding the ATV with Britani and after a treacherous ride, the women wind up by a waterfall and a lake. The ladies still can’t get over Britani and her actions. The adventure outing ends with some margaritas and a chance for Britani to fix things. Heather reminds Britani that she has violated their trust, considering Britani’s story about the recording changed like 14 times now. Meredith calls Britani a liar, and to that, Britani admits there is one thing she has not come clean about on the trip.
The world waits anxiously for Britani to spill the deep, dark secret: Britani DOES have a physical relationship with Jared. What a bombshell. Not. No one can understand what this has to do with the recording issue, but Heather sees Britani and realizes what a big deal this news is.
By Britani saying this out loud, she has changed her life forever, considering she is LDS. Britani calls it her “deepest, darkest secret,” and for a moment it seems like the target gets lifted off her back as the ladies share their personal stories about shame.
Bronwyn suggests that Britani stop “internalizing the shame, but she also has to stop shaming other people.” Heather becomes emotional talking about her world being Mormon, but reminds Britani that this group of women have helped her feel like she is a part of something. With that being said, Heather tells Britani she has to be honest and stop filming them so they can be vulnerable with each other again. In the end, Britani apologizes to a very NOT understanding Meredith.
The day continues with some shopping at the market and then home to prepare for dinner. Angie helps Mary with her hair, demonstrating what a true friendship looks like, and Meredith pops in to chat with Heather.
Meredith can’t get past Britani telling the group she heard Meredith throwing up, particularly since the walls make it nearly impossible to hear people in their rooms. Meredith claims she is “unsettled” about it all, and wonders if Britani planted a listening device in her room. Heather jumps in to play detective. Meredith recreates the coughing attack for Investigator Heather, as she searches for bugs or any type of listening device that Britani may have planted. LOL.
After the wild day the women had, Lisa has decided to have them “dine in elegance with peace and quiet.” Welp, that’s a pipe dream. Angie addresses the conversation with Bronwyn in the Sprinter Van. Lisa and Bronwyn were trying to clear up what happened between them; however, Whitney feels like Bronwyn felt guilty about things said during that conversation and so she was trying to get ahead of them by running to Lisa before the others did. Holy two-faced.
But that’s not the only unsettled issue. Meredith reminds Britani that she was NOT throwing up, but rather on the phone with her husband/having a coughing fit. Meredith points out that the rooms are practically sound proof, so, the question is, just how DID Britani hear what she is claiming? Did she put something in Meredith’s room to record her and how can Meredith even trust what she has to say after her earlier antics?
Britani vehemently denies planting a device in Meredith’s room. In the words of Mary, that would be a dumb thing to do since “Meredith’s boring.” Britani calls this accusation absurd.
In the golf carts home from dinner, Meredith won’t let the mouse go. She demands to know what was said about her during the Bronwyn conversation. Heather explains that they simply said that Meredith knows about tumultuous marriages and about keeping emotional affairs quiet. Anddd that sets Meredith off even more. Meredith is tired of everyone insinuating things about her that are not even true and so she lays into Heather.
In an attempt to get off Meredith’s bad side, Heather changes the direction of the conversation by reminding Meredith, “we have a conspiracy to uncover”- did Britani plant a bug? Heather leads the ladies into Meredith’s room, but Meredith is sick of the ladies starting rumors about her since she does not “co-sign on affairs and infidelities.”
Lisa runs after Meredith, who claims she offers her own experiences to try and help others. Meredith reminds Lisa not to open up to anyone in the group, since all they do is weaponize her words against her. After all her hooting and hollering, I guess it’s safe to say they have their audio test answered…
