In an Instagram post, the actress shared that she and her family have pledged to help those impacted by the wildfires in Southern California. “As the fire still rages on and @calfire @losangelesfiredepartment and all the available first responders and agencies involved in fighting fire and saving lives are still hard at work and neighbors and friends are banding together to save each other, my husband and I and our children have pledged $1 million from our Family Foundation to start a fund of support for our great city and state and the great people who live and love there,” the caption reads. According to TOO FAB, Curtis also announced while appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

She shared that her community has experienced considerable effects from the damage, affecting her local market, the homes of friends, and well-known landmarks. Curtis also urged the audience to assist their communities when there’s an opportunity to support those in need. The Southern California wildfires, which include the Palisades, Eaton, Hurst, Lidia, and Sunset fires, have already necessitated the evacuation of more than 100,000 residents.

Curtis along with other celebrities have said they have lost their homes to the fires. Paris Hilton pledged a similar initiative where she and her non-profit organization will help those impacted by the wildfires.

“My 11:11 Media Impact Team is already reaching out to nonprofit organizations today to figure out how we can best support the communities impacted by these fires. We’re committed to offering help as soon as possible and making a meaningful difference for those who need it most.”

Curtis emphasized the importance of solidarity during crises and encouraged donations to organizations.
