Dungeons & Dragons just got a touch more magical. The Ascendice 2 levitating D20 dice set has shattered expectations on Kickstarter, raking in over $693,330 from more than 3,200 backers.

Originally aiming for a modest $12,334 goal, this project by The Shop of Many Things has soared to an astonishing 5,611% funding.

The creators explain: “For tabletop gamers, every roll matters—and now, it can feel magical. Ascendice 2 is a levitating D20 designed to add wonder and suspense to your gameplay or act as a striking display piece in your collection.”

The creators have gone to great lengths to ensure that Ascendice 2 is as functional as it is awesome. Using a unique resin-pouring technique, they’ve embedded a spherical Neodymium Core at the exact center of each die. This guarantees balance and fairness for every roll—a crucial feature for any tabletop gamer.

They’ve also conducted extensive testing, rolling each die hundreds of times and analyzing the results to ensure randomness and reliability. Beyond functionality, the design also allows the Neodymium Core to move freely, which enhances stability and lets you customize the display angle of your levitating D20.

Although it feels like sorcery, the secret is, of course, magnets. Ascendice 2 takes magnetic levitation technology and elevates it by offering 22% more levitation height than its predecessor.

While similar products exist, Ascendice 2 stands out with its sleek designs and names with flair, such as Voidheart, Bloodlust, and Envy’s Cut.

One supporter said: “If you want to jump from dice Goblin to dice Dragon, then you can’t do better than a magical flippin’ D20.”

Whether you’re a Dungeon Master looking to impress your players or a collector wanting a conversation piece, Ascendice 2 has something to offer.

A single set, including the D20, a levitation base, a base protector, a gift box, and a USB-C cable, is priced at $160 (£129). With only a few hours left on Kickstarter and most wholesale lots sold out, now’s the time to secure your set.

Levitating dice might not be groundbreaking technology, but Ascendice 2 takes the concept to the next level with premium craftsmanship and dramatic flair.
