Halle Berry is stepping up and stepping in! The actress took to social media this week to share how she’s giving back to those in need in Los Angeles amid the ongoing wildfires in the area that have left thousands without a home.

In an Instagram post, the 58-year-old star explained that she is working with actress Sharon Stone and donating her “entire closet” to those in need of “basic” items.

“I’m packing up my entire closet and heading over to the COOP! If you live in the Southern California area, I urge you to do the same. This is something we can do right now today to help all of the displaced families that are in need of the basics today! Thank you @sharonstone for your leadership. Love you, Lady,” she stated.

Sharon also explained in her video, “I’m from Meadville, Pennsylvania, and a famous quote from Margaret Mead says never forget that a group of thoughtful, committed citizens can make a difference.” She continued, “We have beautiful cashmere sweaters, jeans, new socks, shoes, clothes, blankets…You can come and shop. You can also donate.”

Fortunately, the Oscar-winning actress’s home hasn’t been hit by the destructive fires. However, she initially shared a look at the smoke from the fires entering Los Angeles on Wednesday, Jan. 8, in a photo posted to Instagram. She said at the time, “This is from my hood. Look at the sky. That is smoke, not clouds, from a fire that has consumed over 2,900 acres and remains uncontained. It’s left so many homes and buildings without power and killed at least two people, with more left with significant injuries.”

Sadly, Paris Hilton, Billy Crystal, Anna Faris, Tina Knowles, and more stars are among thousands of others who have lost their homes during the wildfires that have broken out in different parts of California.

Los Angeles County officials on Saturday reported that at least 11 people have been killed by wildfires that continue to scorch the region. We will continue to keep you updated on all new developments regarding the California wildfires.
