Rapper-turned-podcaster Joe Budden is breaking his silence and breaking down how he beat his recent civil case for stalking and lewdness as he confesses to sleepwalking nude to his neighbor’s door, but claiming he was NOT masturbating as alleged, further calling his neighbor a “racist Karen who lied.”

As we previously shared, Joe Budden was charged with disorderly lewdness and stalking last month, being accused of masturbating in front of his neighbor’s door at an apartment building in Edgewater, New Jersey. It is reported that the building is where he has been filming his show, ‘The Joe Budden Podcast,’ and the same building where he’s been having ongoing issues with his neighbors, whom he’s since described as a Turkish man and Russian woman with two kids.
He even claimed on a podcast episode that he was recently kicked out of his apartment for continuing to record shows there; leaving him to find a new place to set up shop. Budden’s recent charge seems to shed some more light on the apparent situation. In previous episodes, Budden has also admitted to being a sleepwalker, which he was accused of doing nude in his building’s hallway.
According to court documents, Joe Budden was charged with disorderly lewdness and stalking on December 4 in Edgewater, New Jersey. The Edgewater Police Department reported that his neighbor had Ring Camera footage of him standing completely naked in the hallway in front of their door.

On December 30, the Edgewater Police Department released a statement after reports about the incident surfaced online. Officers were called to the apartment complex at about 7:21 a.m. and upon police arrival, the neighbor alleged that their Ring Camera alerted them to someone standing outside their door.
When the neighbors checked the footage, they alleged that Budden was standing in the hallways completely naked and attempting to enter a code into their door keypad several times before returning to his apartment in the same building.
According to the court complaint, the neighbor and their two juvenile daughters witnessed the alleged offense on a cellphone in real-time. After being charged with disorderly lewdness and stalking, Budden seemingly reacted to the news with a couple of memes on his Instagram Story, and on X, he wrote, “Y’all so dramatic lol.”

His attorney, Nima Ameri, Esquire, of Ameri Law Firm, also addressed the matter with TMZ, stating, “Mr. Budden is saddened by Police Chief Martin’s press release. Mr. Budden has been waiting weeks for his cross complaints to be processed which include substantially more serious charges including possible felony charges against the persons behind these charges against him. The Chief has in our opinion sat on those but instead used his time to gain some free publicity for himself. Chief Martin should seek publicity by doing notable policing not inflaming disorderly person allegations.”
Since the viral reports of Joe Budden’s disorderly lewdness and stalking charges, he is now breaking his silence and breaking down how he beat the case, subsequently confessing to sleepwalking to his “racist Karen” neighbor’s door but denying ever masturbating, something he said she ‘lied” about. On the January 9-published episode of his self-titled podcast, Joe Budden discussed his absence from the show, detailing his civil trial and how he beat the lewdness and stalking case.
He said, “These people decided to misuse some of the systems that are in place for real victims. They went to the police to file a report to say that Joe Budden was outside of their door masturbating and they don’t know if I was there with the intention to ‘r-word’ her and her family. So, what seemed like a simple sleepwalking medical condition turned into something much bigger. So, I’ve been gone [from the podcast] for a month, ’cause I had a civil suit.”

He further claimed that on the first day of the trial, his “racist,” “lying,” and “Karen” neighbor took the stand and “cried immediately” with “white girl tears.” He insisted, “She lied on that paperwork to say, ‘He was masturbating on my door,’ as if I can’t find a million better places to masturbate than that. My lawyer asked her if she thought that I was fully erected in the video. She said, ‘Yes.’ … So, that was a big point of contention during this civil trial. He touched his penis in this video, so was he masturbating? She says, ‘Yes.’”
Joe Budden continued to reveal that during the trial, he thought about having his doctor take the stand to negate the lewdness charge and his being erect and masturbating. However, that move would have further dragged out the proceedings, so he had his girlfriend, Shadée Monique, take the stand to testify that he was not, in fact, fully erect. Budden called her on the show and she recalled telling the court that he was in fact flaccid (soft), and when asked again if he was erect, she said, “Absolutely not.” Budden then joked, “I’m a grower, not a shower.”
Budden then told his co-hosts and podcast audience that due to his girlfriend’s testimony of him not being erect and the video evidence only showing him touching his genitals to cover himself up, the judge dismissed the case and dropped all charges against him. He said, “[The judge said], ‘The one time that he touched his penis, he appeared to be trying to cover himself. Mr. Budden was not trying to forcibly enter.’” He added, “She was fair, reasonable, heard all the testimony, was attentive, wasn’t on no bullsh*t.”
