Tom Holland’s Dad Says He And Zendaya Always ‘Confound’ Him

Tom Holland’s father, Dominic Holland, is certain in his and Zendaya’s ability to handle the spotlight and have a happy union.

Zendaya flaunted a diamond-encrusted ring on her ring finger during the 2025 Golden Globes Awards, sparking a buzz as people wondered if Tom had popped the question.

Soon after, it was confirmed that the lovebirds were indeed engaged, and information about how the “Avengers” star planned the proposal has since emerged, with his dad the latest to share.

Dominic shared his delight with how Tom and Zendaya have handled the public attention their relationship has brought their way in a January 10 Patreon post.

According to E! News, he wrote, “I do fret that their combined stardom will amplify their spotlight and the commensurate demands on them and yet they continually confound me by handling everything with aplomb.”

The proud dad, who shares Tom, 28, and his brothers Harry and Sam, 25, and Paddy, 20, with his wife, Nicki Holland, believes the “Spider-Man” star has the perfect blueprint to follow thanks to his and Nicki’s 30-year marriage.

He penned, “Even though show-business is a messy place for relationships and particularly so for famous couples as they crash and burn in public and are too numerous to mention, with us an example, with Nikki helming this family and my ‘wisdom’ on tap and a study in getting things mostly wrong and yet somehow right at the same time I am completely confident they will make a successful union.”

Much has been said about how Tom took his time to plan his proposal to Zendaya, with insiders revealing that he asked the actress’s father, Kazembe Ajamu Coleman, for her hand in marriage months ago.

Dominic shared more insight into how his oldest son meticulously planned his proposal.

“He purchased a ring,” Dominic explained. “He had spoken with her father and gained permission to propose to his daughter. Tom had everything planned out… When, where, how, what to say, what to wear…”

After Tom and Zendaya’s engagement was confirmed, an insider told PEOPLE Magazine that the 28-year-old had been keen on proposing “for a while now.”

The source also said, “He’s always been crazy about her. He always knew she was the one. They have something very special.”

Tom’s intentions for Zendaya were reportedly so clear that everyone close to them “knew the engagement was happening,” though they weren’t certain when it would happen.

Although Tom and Zendaya are in no rush to walk down the aisle, sources close to the lovebirds revealed that they are ready to take the next step in their relationship and consider “starting a family” as soon as they tie the knot.

A Daily Mail report revealed that Tom took the traditional route with his proposal by getting her family’s permission first before going down on one knee.

An insider told the outlet, “The proposal was sweet and romantic and happened over the holidays. He did it the old-fashioned way and got permission from her folks. Everyone is thrilled.”

The insider continued, “She has gotten everything she dreamed of and marrying Tom and starting a family is next on her list.”

TMZ reported that the “Spider-Man: No Way Home” co-stars got matching tattoos at a Boston tattoo company in Massachusetts a day before Thanksgiving.

According to the outlet, the pair got small and discreet inks, with Zendaya getting a “T” ink on her ribcage, while Tom got a “Z” tattoo in the same spot.

The tabloid also claimed that Zendaya’s mom accompanied them to their tattoo date and got a small ink of her own.
