Ashley Darby appeared on Sunday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live, where she shared details about a conversation she had with Karen Huger‘s attorney before she was found guilty of DUI.
As the 36-year-old Real Housewives of Potomac star also offered an update on her relationship with Josh, reacted to Mia Thornton‘s split from Inc, and addressed a potential romance with the newly single Craig Conover, 35, Ashley discussed her divorce and co-parenting relationship with Michael Darby, addressed Deborah Williams‘ $71 million countersuit against Keiarna Stewart, 37, and weighed in on the verdict against Karen and the dashcam videos of her arrest.
“Pure shock, Andy,” Ashley began on the January 12 episode of WWHL before reflecting on a run-in she had with Karen’s lawyer just weeks before the verdict. “He was just saying, like, ‘Oh, everything’s gonna be fine,’ just reassuring us, too. It was [Gizelle Bryant], [Robyn Dixon], and I. So we believed him. We thought they had this in the bag, they knew what they were doing.”
“When that footage aired and when we saw everything that transpired, we wondered, ‘How on earth did they decide to go to trial?’ Something’s not adding up. Something’s not right,” she continued.
As for her communication with Karen in the weeks since, Ashley said they’ve only spoken “a little bit.”
“It was Christmastime. So literally I wished her a Merry Christmas,” she revealed.
Regarding her romance with Josh, who she met while speed-dating on the show, Ashley confirmed they’re still “hanging out” and monogamous.
“He sent me off this morning [with] a big [smile]. He’s a good guy … But we don’t have labels at the moment, but we are only banging each other,” she explained.
Looking back at Sunday’s episode of RHOP, Ashley shared her thoughts on Mia’s reaction to her flirtatious behavior with Jacqueline Blake, 40.
“Jacqueline and I … she actually told me I was her type and she asked me if I was into girls. That was one of the first things Jacqueline ever asked me,” Ashley revealed. “[Mia’s behavior] was a little alarming for Jacqueline, and to call Jacqueline low-hanging fruit? Who says that about their friend? That is not your homegirl.”
Also speaking of Mia, after stating that her apology to Gizelle, 54, in regard to her comments about her daughters, was “too little, too late,” Ashley expressed doubt about Mia’s breakup.
“Oh come on! Really? Does anyone believe this? Do we believe this is true? Oh my goodness. This is part of her script. Yes. Believe. This is just a telenovela,” she alleged.
After weeks of feuding between Karen and Jacqueline, and Karen’s alleged concerns about global warming following Jacqueline’s eight balloons, Ashley said Karen was “definitely reaching with that Captain Planet thing” as she admitted to having hope for their future friendship.
“It doesn’t help that Karen was saying that Jacquline has STD lips, obviously. But I do think that eventually once everything sort of evens out for Karen, she’ll make amends with a lot of people. I think it’ll be a part of her 12-step program,” Ashley suggested.
When host Andy Cohen, 56, then asked Ashley about Craig and his single status, she recalled a past visit to London with the Southern Charm star.
“He spoke very highly of Paige. So he’s so in love. He’s gonna need a minute. He needs to thaw out for a little bit … Maybe. [Paige DeSorbo] is a homegirl, though, so it’s a little murky,” she noted.
As for her own split, Ashley said her divorce is “in the hands of Virginia State” as she shared what her sons, Dean, 5, and Dylan, 3, know of the split.
“Dean actually asked me the other day, ‘Why don’t you and Daddy live together,’ so as far as they know, we just don’t live under the same roof. That’s it,” she revealed. “We went from parallel parenting to co-parenting, so we’re better.”
And just as she’s getting to know Josh, Michael is having plenty of fun as well.
“Michael’s in the streets every weekend. People tell me all the time, which I’m happy. Go live your life, have a great time. But I hear all about it,” she shared.
When Ashley was then asked about Deborah filing a countersuit against Keiarna following their fight, Ashley confirmed they were no longer in touch.
“Baby, persona non grata. We don’t talk. I don’t know where she is. I mean, I hope she’s doing well, wherever she lives. But we’re not friends,” she stated.
Also on WWHL, during a series of rapid-fire questions, Ashley said she believed Keiarna and Greg would get engaged, said Stacey was more likely to finalize her divorce before Mia, and suggested Thomas Anthony “TJ” Jones thought of Stacey as a “friend” rather than a partner.
The Real Housewives of Potomac season nine airs Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.
