Jay-Z’s Lawyer Says Rape Accuser’s Story Has ‘Glaring Red Flags’

Tensions have escalated in the legal battle between Jay-Z and his rape accuser, with the hip-hop mogul’s lawyer launching a scathing attack on the credibility of the allegations.

Alex Spiro highlighted what he describes as “glaring red flags” in the accuser’s story, sparking a heated war of words between the two camps.

This development comes after the anonymous woman who accused Jay-Z of rape admitted to making some mistakes in the lawsuit.

According to the Daily Mail, Jay-Z’s lawyer, Spiro, filed a 30-page motion where he claims there are “glaring red flags” in the rapper’s rape accuser’s story as he also demanded that measures be taken against the accuser’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee, for causing “extraordinary harm” to his client.

In his filing, Spiro outlined several perceived inconsistencies, saying it showed that her claims were “demonstrably false.”

The woman in question claimed in her filing that the rape happened at a “large white residence with a gated U-shaped driveway.”

However, Spiro wrote that on the night in question, Diddy was seen at the Lotus nightclub in New York with his then-girlfriend, Jennifer Lopez, and at another Manhattan club, Twirl.

The accuser claimed to have seen musicians Fred Durst and Benji Madden at the afterparty, but they didn’t attend the VMAs that year.

Also, the woman claimed to have watched the event on a jumbotron outside the venue, but Spiro says New York City officials constantly “denied MTV’s permit request.”

To raise more doubt about the validity of the rape lawsuit, Spiro highlighted the woman’s claims that she asked her father to pick her up at a gas station; however, the man told NBC he couldn’t “remember doing so.”

“I feel like I would remember that, and I don’t. I have a lot going on, but I mean, that’s something that would definitely stick in my mind,” he said.

“Uncovering these serious problems with the claim would not have taken a competent and ethical attorney much time,” Spiro wrote, per the Daily Mail.

In her filing, the accuser, presently identified as Jane Doe, accused Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs of sexually assaulting her when she was only 13 years old while attending a VMA afterparty in September 2000.

She claims that Diddy came into the room where she was and said that she was “ready to party” before he and Jay-Z forced themselves upon her.

Meanwhile, Jay-Z has repeatedly denied the allegations, saying the woman “filed a false complaint against me in the pursuit of money and fame.”

After highlighting the inconsistencies, Spiro harshly criticized Jay-Z’s accuser’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee, for seemingly not properly vetting her claims.

However, since the Texas-based lawyer failed to do so and instead claimed that a previous law firm had vetted the story, Spiro noted that this meant that Buzbee’s lack of perusal from Jay-Z’s accusers was “grossly deficient.”

“Given the horrific nature of the allegations, every day this inadequately vetted complaint remains on the docket causes extraordinary harm to Mr Carter, his family, his businesses, and his employees,” Spiro filed.

“Attorneys should not be permitted to destroy a person’s reputation by alleging facts without a sufficient investigation or by failing to withdraw those allegations once it is clear that they are false or exceedingly unlikely to be true,” he added.

Spiro then filed for the accuser’s complaint to be dismissed immediately and urged the court to impose “an appropriate monetary sanction or fee award” against Buzbee.

Meanwhile, Buzbee has hit back at Spiro’s claim, saying its filing “reeks of desperation” and is “full of lies.”

“Spiro and his firm are paid by the hour. So, they file a lot of junk with the court,” Buzbee noted.

The anonymous accuser previously appeared on NBC News and admitted to making “mistakes” in her story.

“Honestly, what is the clearest is what happened to me and [the] route that I took to what happened to me. Not all of the faces there are as clear,” the woman shared.

“So I have made some mistakes,” she admitted. “I may have made a mistake in identifying.”

Despite these inconsistencies, the 38-year-old alleged victim maintains that her claims are not false and continues to stand by her allegations.
