Yvette Nicole Brown Reminds Khloé Kardashian Of Family’s Past

Khloé Kardashian continues to receive criticism after she called Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass “a joke” for allegedly cutting the city’s fire department budget months before the devastating wildfires.

“Community” actress Yvette Nicole Brown is the latest to slam Khloé and did so by reminding the reality television star of her family’s past excessive water usage.

Khloé is not the only Kardashian who has received criticism amid the Los Angeles wildfires, as her sister Kim Kardashian was also slammed for promoting her SKIMS brand during the inferno.

On Monday, Brown shared a screenshot of an August 23, 2022, Rolling Stone article with the headline, “Kardashians Among L.A.’s Worst Water Wasters, Using 333,000 Gallons Over County Limit In June.”

The article’s excerpt alleged that the Kardashian family’s private jet usage was the “tip of the iceberg” regarding their water wastage, adding that it showed their “willful ignorance of climate change.”

In Brown’s post caption, she had a message for Khloé. The 53-year-old wrote, “This is from 2022 when Los Angeles was in the midst of a drought. Every citizen was asked to conserve for the good of everyone else. Y’know because of fires?”

She concluded, “This is how some citizens responded to the ask. Is THIS a joke @khloekardashian?”

Many of Brown’s followers reacted to her post by praising her and calling out Khloé Kardashian.

One person commented, “See what happens when you’re loud and wrong, @khloekardashian ??? Smh.”

Another person expressed disappointment that Khloé had hundreds of millions of followers on Instagram. They wrote, “And the problem also is that Khloe has 304M followers. gawd damn!!!!”

A third follower asked Khloé to keep the Los Angeles Mayor’s name out of her mouth. They wrote, “Now keep Ms Bass’ name out your mouth, Khloe.”

A fourth person thanked Brown for sharing relevant content. They commented, “@yvettenicolebrown your content from social media to everything you do in the entertainment business is always on point.”

They continued, “Thank you for using your platform to spread the right information and combat the rumors.”

Last Friday, Khloé courted controversy when she labeled Mayor Karen Bass “a joke” in a post on her Instagram Stories.

Khloé slammed Bass after the city’s Fire Chief, Kristin Crowley, told Fox 11 that the mayor reduced the city’s ability to combat the fire by pushing for significant budget cuts months before the wildfires began.

Crowley also claimed she requested more money over a month ago because some firetrucks were due for immediate repairs, and hydrants needed fixing. However, her pleas fell on deaf ears.

Khloé shared a screenshot from Crowley’s interview on her Instagram Stories and expressed support for the fire chief.

She wrote, “I stand by YOU Chief Crowley!!! You spoke the truth and you had tears in your eyes because I can tell you didn’t even want to say that but it was THE TRUTH!!!!”

The 40-year-old added, “Thank you for being honest @losangelesfiredepartment Chief Crowley.”

She concluded by calling Bass out, writing, “Mayor Bass you are a joke!!!!”

Following Khloé’s post, many liberals took to social media to blast her for quickly calling out Bass but not doing the same to other controversial politicians and public figures.

One person on X wrote, “It’s interesting how Khloe Elon Musk Kardashian has been very quick to call Mayor Karen Bass “A JOKE” but had no smoke for Trump, JD Vance or Elon during this past election.”

A second person on X observed, “It’s something about the way Khloe Kardashian has been on IG reposting nothing but right-wing MAGA influencers’ content denigrating Mayor Bass in light of these devastating fires that don’t sit right with me. I never once saw her call out former Mayor Garcetti similarly…”

A third X user wrote, “I’m tired of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass getting demolished out here. And Khloe K needs to STFU. Let’s get something clear. If you are from LA, you know Los Angeles is a specific area. Khloe K needs to talk to HER own Mayor Alicia Weintraub. Yeah the Mayor of Calabasas. Dummy.”

Amid the criticism, Khloé, who shares two kids with NBA star Tristan Thompson, also received some support from people who felt she did the right thing, calling out Bass, who they felt should resign.

Khloé isn’t the only Kardashian to have received criticism amid the wildfires. Her sister, Kim Kardashian, also got slammed after she promoted SKIMS’ winter sale.

After Kim shared the sale on Instagram Stories, Los Angeles writer and comedian Meredith Lynch called her out, accusing her of prioritizing her brand over the devastating wildfires.

A frustrated Lynch said, “Kim Kardashian, who has these huge reaches, who has such a base in Los Angeles, it is wild to me that they’re not like, ‘hey let me use my platform to put out as much resources as possible.'”

She added, “No, instead, she’s like ‘buy SKIMS.'”

Fans joined Lynch in blasting Kim, calling the latter’s post insensitive and accusing her of not caring about others.
