Jason Isbell Unplugs For ‘Foxes In The Snow’

Following the Feb. 15 start of his first entirely solo U.S. tour, Jason Isbell is eyeing a March 7 release for his debut acoustic album, Foxes in the Snow. The project, which will be released on Isbell’s Southeastern Records, is led by the single “Bury Me,” which is out now.

Isbell put Foxes in the Snow to tape during five days in October 2024 at New York’s Electric Lady Studios, utilizing the all-mahogany 1940 Martin 0-17 acoustic guitar throughout. Since the end of December, he’s been teasing the new release with Instagram videos of himself showing off his fancy fretwork.

Foxes in the Snow is Isbell’s first album since 2023’s Weathervanes, which won the Grammy for Best Americana Album and debuted at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Top Independent Albums chart.

Prior to the acoustic tour, which runs through a March 20-22, 28 stand at Nashville’s Pinnacle, Isbell and his band the 400 Unit will play a handful of gigs in Mexico and Europe. An extensive full band tour gets underway April 3-5 in Austin, Tx.

Isbell, who made his acting debut in Scorsese’ Killers Of The Flower Moon, will also be seen in the upcoming RZA-produced/written/directed feature One Spoon of Chocolate.
