Patricia Altschul defended JT Thomas after slamming him on Southern Charm. The 83-year-old hinted that, during filming, she “still believed” Craig Conover’s claim that JT called her a ‘b**ch.’ But after watching the episodes, Patricia declared, “I don’t think he did.”
On the season premiere, JT gifted each cast member a cane, including Patricia. Patricia took offense, assuming it was an insult about her age. Later on, Craig stated that JT called Patricia a ‘b**ch’ for reacting negatively to his gift. But JT maintained that he never said it, and there appeared to be no footage backing up Craig’s claim.
In the past, Craig has been accused of lying to stir up drama for the show. Some viewers believe he’s also skilled at manipulating fans.
On Instagram, Patricia reacted to a recent Southern Charm clip. In the scene, Patricia told her son Whitney that she assumed Craig’s accusation was true. The star also shared that she would no longer have “close interactions” with JT. But in a confessional interview (filmed later), Whitney explained, “I don’t think JT is the kind of person who would call a woman a b**ch, and throughout the years, Craig has had a tenuous relationship with reality and the truth.”
A flashback then showed Craig from a past season, declaring, “I can convince a lot of people of anything I want to convince them of. I’m a great liar.”
In a new comment shared by @queensofbravo, Patricia explained, “When [my scene] was filmed, I still believed that JT had called me the b-word. Now, after seeing the latest episodes, I don’t think he did.”
In a season 10 preview, JT confronted Craig over the accusation.
“Craig, you lied, and you offended Miss Patricia,” JT stated on a cast trip. “I didn’t say that word about her.”
“Yeah you did,” Craig insisted. “You said she was a b**ch of the cup when you handed her the cane.”
Later in the fight, Craig stormed out after telling castmates, “F**k you guys.”
New episodes of Southern Charm air on Thursday nights on Bravo.
