The Season 15 finale of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City ended with a dramatic clash between Angie Katsanevas and Lisa Barlow, which involved heated exchanges and personal jabs — including comments about each other’s husbands. On The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City After Show, both women reflected on what caused the confrontation to escalate so quickly, shedding light on their perspectives.
Angie Katsanevas Speaks Out on the Heated Moment
For Angie, the confrontation was sparked by Lisa’s decision to repeat a damaging rumor about Angie’s husband, Shawn Trujillo. Angie, visibly upset during the After Show, explained how she felt personally attacked when Lisa brought up her husband in such a negative light. “It just triggered me,” she admitted. “First of all, why in the world would you say [that]? It’s her true colors, though — like, ‘I’m hurt, I’m going to bring you down.’”
Angie also expressed how the situation affected her family: “First of all, I didn’t appreciate those rumors and things being threatened about my marriage. Obviously, there’s no truth to them, but why are you pulling my husband in? And then my family has to look at things in the press for a year, it finally goes away, and now you throw it back out there? It was irresponsible, it was damaging, it was vicious.”
Lisa Barlow’s Defense: Feeling Unseen
Lisa Barlow, on the other hand, felt betrayed by Angie. She explained that she had always been there for Angie in the past, defending her during Season 4 and standing by her side. Therefore, when a rumor about Lisa and her husband John Barlow was brought up by Whitney Rose, Lisa expected Angie to have her back. “I was there for her, and I’m looking to her for like, ‘Hey, step in, I thought we don’t talk about this. How would you feel if she was saying this about Shawn?’” Lisa shared during the After Show.
When Angie didn’t step in as Lisa hoped, the situation escalated. Lisa explained her frustration: “She was not there for me… And the fact that she’s like, ‘F–k you’ and ruining those flowers — I paid for those flowers!” She further questioned Angie’s loyalty: “Like what kind of a friend are you?”
Angie’s Side: Defending Her Actions
Despite Lisa’s interpretation, Angie felt she did defend her friend during the dinner. “I wasn’t rooting Whitney on. I wasn’t saying it was true. I wasn’t saying, ‘Go Whitney,’” she clarified. For Angie, the issue wasn’t about choosing sides; it was about how Lisa handled the situation.
Angie also shared her theory on why Lisa might have brought up her husband Shawn during the altercation. “This is where it confirms to me Lisa’s upset at me for being friends with Whitney,” she revealed. “And she feels like my silence is that I’m not backing her, and I’m supporting Whitney,” she added, describing the moment as “an all-new low.”
